Avatar Mon. 1/29/18 4:09am markr:

Simon, you were a star on Clay's Wake & Bake show last week!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 1/29/18 4:10am pacific standard simon:

Oh lord, I listened to that! Clay picked the one topic that turns me into jello.
Avatar Mon. 1/29/18 4:16am markr:

Everybody loved it, though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 1/29/18 4:16am Craig in MoTown:

I know--me too! Sounds great through these headphones, though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 1/29/18 4:24am Craig in MoTown:

Ha, not quite Michigan, right here in NJ, Morristown.
  Mon. 1/29/18 4:25am queems:

i love it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 1/29/18 4:32am Scraps:

Maybe “french band” could be some of people remembering that was a fairly well known jazz band called Air, led by Henry Threadgill, with several albums. (Well, I was irritated by the French band for that, anyway.)
Avatar Mon. 1/29/18 4:35am markr:

Oh, THAT Mo-town, ha. Well, welcome anyway, and it's still 4:35 am, so have some coffee, for God sakes.
Avatar Mon. 1/29/18 4:37am markr:

I admit this is kind of a lousy recording--sounds like a soundboard recording, maybe--but still...
Avatar Mon. 1/29/18 4:40am markr:

I wish I was a catfish...swimming in the deep blue sea. But catfish are freshwater fish, no? And do you really think if you were a catfish, women would be swimming after you? I think you'd have a better chance just staying a man, and maybe putting on a spritz of Hai Karate and a nice suit, and you know, buy the lady a Hennessy or something...I have all kinds of issues with these ridiculous lyrics.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 1/29/18 4:44am Scraps:

Well, catfish women, presuming. Of course, then we have to consider sex with fish, and does that really sound like fun? Etc
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 1/29/18 4:47am Scraps:

Though most catfish are freshwater fish, “Numerous species from the families Ariidae and Plotosidae, and a few species from among the Aspredinidae and Bagridae, are found in salt water.“
  Mon. 1/29/18 4:49am queems:

you have been subscribed to fish facts
Avatar Mon. 1/29/18 4:50am markr:

And then there's the whole "Shape of Water"/"Incredible Mr. Limpet" deal...There's just a lot to unpack there. Mitch Mitchell was good, though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 🎃 Mon. 1/29/18 4:56am Guido from Cologne:

Good morning Mark
Avatar 🎃 Mon. 1/29/18 5:00am Sem:

Hello, and good morning, Mark, all.
Avatar Mon. 1/29/18 5:04am markr:

Morning Guido and Sem. I promise you an eclectic blend this last hour. I'll try not to make the segues too jarring.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 1/29/18 5:10am pacific standard simon:

Sure hope I've cleared up he latest computer malfunction. Wish I'd chosen an easier log-in to type.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 🎃 Mon. 1/29/18 5:10am Guido from Cologne:

I'm not afraid of eclecticsm :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 1/29/18 5:13am pacific standard simon:

How does The Shape of Water not end up looking like a BPRD/Herllboy rip-off? That's how the ads make it seem.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 1/29/18 5:14am pacific standard simon:

Uh, Hellboy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 1/29/18 5:15am pacific standard simon:

This John Hollenback stuff sounds a bit like some of the more romantic Zappa orchestral pieces.
Avatar Mon. 1/29/18 5:16am markr:

Well, I didn't see "Hellboy" (I know, I'm a Philistine!) but I loved "Shape of Water," all the performances were first-rate. Michael Shannon has become my cult hero. I'll go see anything he's in. Richard Jenkins, too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 1/29/18 5:16am Dave in Vermont:

morning
Avatar Mon. 1/29/18 5:17am markr:

I like this album a lot--I honestly haven't listened to it in quite some time. And as the playlist notes, he's got a new album coming out this week, I'll be curious to hear what it sounds like.

Morning all.
Sounds great!
Avatar Mon. 1/29/18 5:21am markr:

Yes I see the resemblances. "Shape of Water" is more focused on the other actors, thought.
