ngh do you ever read Cormac McCarthy? a few of his books (as the one i'm almost finished now) have a significant amount of dialogue in mexican spanish, only sometimes with an explanation in english of what was said. i imagine someone fluent would get a little more out of it than i.

Saw/heard a joker in a clip apparently from online, doing many styles in succession while covering one current song. He added the vocal flavor we're hearing in some of these tracks to back-up singing for his quickie Sinatra "style" delivery. I don't know Frank's whole catalogue, but that's not a mode & association that seems to work.

Walter Wanderley used to have his own club in Hollywood (the current site of Three Clubs on Vine St, if I'm not mistaken) where'd he'd sit in the round doin his organ thang.

That reminds me: fellow organ master Jimmy Smith had HIS own club in LA, not far from where I now live in the Valley. "sigh* Born too late...
