Avatar Thu. 8/24/17 11:12am Kurt Gottschalk:

heya, coel!
  Thu. 8/24/17 11:16am Doug Schulkind:

Henry Flynt is perfect music for peeing in a cup. I am sitting in a clinic waiting to be drug-tested for my internship at a nursing home. I think I'm going to ACE this rest!
Avatar Thu. 8/24/17 11:18am northguineahills:

I'm lucky, I've only been drug tested once in my life, and that was for a job in 2000.
  Thu. 8/24/17 11:19am Doug Schulkind:

Back in 1983, I had to take a lie-detector test to get a job working in the stockroom at J
Avatar Thu. 8/24/17 11:19am Kurt Gottschalk:

doug, i hope FLYNT doesn't show up in your urine!
  Thu. 8/24/17 11:20am Dean:

@Doug: Debussy's "Jardins sous la Pluie" is also an effective urine coaxer. Also, I don't believe your lie detector story.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Thu. 8/24/17 11:22am Uncle Michael:

I'm loving the hell out of today's show, Kurt. My office-mate is gone and I can actually hear it.
Avatar Thu. 8/24/17 11:24am V Priceless:

what Uncle M said, sans the office mate
Avatar Swag For Life Member Thu. 8/24/17 11:30am doctorjazz:

Usually can't listen until late in the show on Thursday, dentist visit freed up some morning time, digging the hell out of the show, have to say!
  Thu. 8/24/17 11:30am Doug Schulkind:

...at J and R Music World. I "failed" the polygraph and didn't get the job. The examiner asked me if I was gay, to which I answered "no." All these years I've wondered, may be I answered wrong.
Avatar Thu. 8/24/17 11:31am Kurt Gottschalk:

thanks, unk and veep!

wut they asked you what doug?
  Thu. 8/24/17 11:31am Dean:

@doctorjazz: I treat dentist visits involving ultrasonic cleanings that randomly resonate across a portion of mandible as, essentially, a WFMU stream.
Avatar Thu. 8/24/17 11:33am coelacanth∅:

maybe you answered wrong in terms of their needing to fill a quota of "gay" employees?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Thu. 8/24/17 11:34am doctorjazz:

It was a bit like the Flynt, have to say...
Avatar Thu. 8/24/17 11:36am northguineahills:

A polygraph for J&R Music World?!!! It's not the FBI (or is it?) I had a friend work there (early 2000s), and if he could get in....
Avatar Swag For Life Member Thu. 8/24/17 11:38am doctorjazz:

You never know, J and R had some great stuff at one time, spent many, many hours in the racks (NOT THE RACKS!). If you weren't trustworthy, who know what could have happened to those goodies...
Avatar Thu. 8/24/17 11:41am coelacanth∅:

i applied to work at rite-aid doing photoprocessing, when i first got to town, and would've had to consent to periodic drug testing. i said never mind - even though i would've passed those tests without a problem.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Thu. 8/24/17 11:42am steve:

i was surprised about Doug's J&R polygraph, but then i remembered the one time i worked at a retail store at a big new jersey mall employees were stealing stuff constantly.
Avatar Thu. 8/24/17 11:44am coelacanth∅:

i used to steal from employers that i didn't respect &/or were screwing me over. i have no shame. i never stole from the fair ones; the ones who don't make the world suck.
Avatar Thu. 8/24/17 11:46am coelacanth∅:

("but,c, then you perpetuated making the world suck"blah blah blah...)
Avatar Thu. 8/24/17 11:46am Parq:

Shilpa Ray owes Debbie Harry a Mother's Day card.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Thu. 8/24/17 11:47am steve:

one guy who was stealing from the store and really despised the place told me he was stealing clothes and just giving them directly to Goodwill
Avatar Thu. 8/24/17 11:47am Parq:

As Kurt makes my point for me.
Avatar Thu. 8/24/17 11:50am Parq:

Marveling at the Marveletttes.
Avatar Thu. 8/24/17 11:55am coelacanth∅:

steve i like that! i'm not sure i can claim such righteousness, at least during those times i was stealing.
Avatar Thu. 8/24/17 11:58am V Priceless:

thanks Kurt! Fabuloso showso!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Thu. 8/24/17 11:59am Jeff Golick:

This show is what I aspire to be when I grow up. Thanks, Kurt.

Thanks Kurt!
