Robin Ward has another nice seasonal song with "Winter's Here" which would be really nice on a girl group christmas compilation (that's a hint!)

@Bronwyn: Hillary is a good example of how women can be as ruthless as men, so just get rid of stereotypes. Sadly, I don't think Bernie would have won against Trump. Selfishly, I'm just glad we got Trump-lite instead of Hitler-lite this year.

Great show Sheila. I love that Darlene McRae song. First heard it when I bought a CD at a YLT Hanukkah show of songs Ira liked (they of course covered it later). Thanks for the cheery warm voice on this day.

re; love/hate Randy Newman. Perhaps. Like Dylan, Waits, Petty, The Shaggs (?) and a host of other musicians, it's the SONG not the singer. That was a beautiful song, in my opinion, and not hindered but FORMED by his admittedly "different" vocal style.

Agree, clicky star here.

Hi miss Sheila, my name is Kaelan and I'm from Toronto! First off, thank you for the lovely introduction to Suomi queen, Ann Christine. I can't believe that as a 20-something Finn, I've never come across her music. Kiitos!

I take it by your enthusiasm towards all things Japanese that you'd know a few great places to look for live music in Tokyo. I'm traveling there in October and would love to experience some swingin' girl pop! If you could curate a playlist with some more Japanese tracks, that would be awesome as I don't even know where to start!

My coworker Daniel introduced me to your show a few months ago and I'm hooked! Thank you, thank you, thank you for the refreshing playlist each week as it's the first thing I tune into on Monday mornings and truly the best way to start the week!
