We bought that Polaris sub. It was a bit of a disappointment.
Avatar Tue. 8/1/17 11:59am Tony Coulter:

You mean it wasn't fully operational? What a gyp! (Hey, βrian!)
Avatar Tue. 8/1/17 12:01pm βrian:

I mean, we figured we could at least take it for a run in a local pond ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 8/1/17 12:02pm listener james from westwood:

How do, Tony and all!
Avatar Tue. 8/1/17 12:03pm Tony Coulter:

It's rare that I can catch the beginning of this show at work anymore.
I half expect someone to walk in in 3, 2, 1......
Avatar    Tue. 8/1/17 12:06pm Rich in Washington:

I think mailing out for stuff like that sub was designed to teach kids about the world of disappointment.
Avatar Tue. 8/1/17 12:07pm Tony Coulter:

Heya, Rich! Why not push your desk up against the door? Keep the bastards out!
Avatar Tue. 8/1/17 12:07pm βrian:

@Rich. Yep, and here we are.
  Tue. 8/1/17 12:07pm Dean:

I had the two baby goats, but never got to order the submarine to verify the accuracy of the advertising. So I slaughtered the kids and made sandwiches out of them.
Avatar Tue. 8/1/17 12:08pm Tony Coulter:

Ahoy, Dean!
Avatar Tue. 8/1/17 12:09pm Mayuko:

Avatar Tue. 8/1/17 12:12pm Tony Coulter:

Re "sunny Maine": It's going up to 108 this week here in the Northwest.
  Tue. 8/1/17 12:14pm Dean:

My son was in PDX for the past two weeks. He so hated having to leave, not least because the weather was ideal for swimming.

Think I heard Bpeople at Al's Bar hella long time ago.
Avatar    Tue. 8/1/17 12:17pm Rich in Washington:

I was just rapidly scanning my newsfeed and misread the words 'arabic fabric' and thought that would make a funny alternative name for Muslimguaze.

released on a cassette inside a flattened chickpeas can.
Avatar Tue. 8/1/17 12:18pm Tony Coulter:

By the Northwest I mean Portland. God knows what it'll be going up to in southeast Oregon.
  Tue. 8/1/17 12:18pm Dean:

Portland, Maine?
Avatar Tue. 8/1/17 12:19pm Tony Coulter:

Nope: Stumptown.

Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 8/1/17 12:26pm listener james from westwood:

I saw that nightmarish temperature stat for PDX and environs. That is some Vegas weather right there. Sympathies to humans and evergreens alike.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 8/1/17 12:26pm Cecile:

this should be the theme song to everything.
Avatar Tue. 8/1/17 12:32pm Tony Coulter:

Will be doing two sets of basement LPs later on in the show. One set will be swinging easy listening stuff, and the other will be new wave and such.
Avatar Tue. 8/1/17 12:40pm βrian:

78 degrees on the isthmus today. A touch warm, but no complaints.
Avatar    Tue. 8/1/17 12:45pm Nick S.:

Hey, Tony! Sorry, I'm late.
Avatar Tue. 8/1/17 12:46pm Tony Coulter:

Hey, Nick! Time has no meaning here on the Drummer Stream. Everything is eternally now.
  Tue. 8/1/17 12:50pm Matt:

It just occurred to me that this Pseudo Code is increible.
Avatar Tue. 8/1/17 12:51pm Tony Coulter:

It is! (Greetings, Matt!)
  Tue. 8/1/17 1:00pm Mark Williams:

that Bene Gesserit was new to me, Tony. Very very nice.

It's from just a few years ago -- they never stop being great!
  Tue. 8/1/17 1:15pm Mark Williams:

Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 8/1/17 1:16pm JtotheK:

  Tue. 8/1/17 1:16pm Mark Williams:

great track, mind you.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 8/1/17 1:17pm northguineahills:

I always confuse the Ghetto Brothers w/ the Geto Boys. (don't ask)
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 8/1/17 1:17pm Guido from Cologne:

Hi Tony!
By chance I found the Ghetto Bros. in a sell-out last year - the CD.
Roots of Block Party culture, should be mentioned.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 8/1/17 1:17pm Guido from Cologne:

Interesting story anyway.
Avatar Tue. 8/1/17 1:18pm Tony Coulter:

Hey hey, NGH and Guido!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 8/1/17 1:20pm Guido from Cologne:

I'm about to order stuff from Eriek van Havee ... how is the new Pseudo Code comp.?
Avatar Tue. 8/1/17 1:21pm Tony Coulter:

@ Guido: Really, really great. Definitely pick it up if you like them at all. And say hello to Eriek!
  Tue. 8/1/17 1:24pm Mark Williams:

Eriek at EE Tapes just launched a Bandcamp page, if I'm not mistaken.
Avatar Tue. 8/1/17 1:25pm Tony Coulter:

Yeah, he did. I think it's for the stuff on his label that's out of print.
Avatar Tue. 8/1/17 1:27pm geezerette:

OHHHHH NOOOOO !!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 8/1/17 1:27pm northguineahills:

Why can't you not see?

Hell, 1968 was Ur-Spinal Tap.

Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 8/1/17 1:36pm Cecile:

I am skeptical of the Vanilla Fudge doing anyting better than anyone, but I will have to hear it Guido, because I trust your taste.
Avatar Tue. 8/1/17 1:36pm Tony Coulter:

Thanks, Nick!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 8/1/17 1:37pm Guido from Cologne:

The St. John Green / Kim Fowly story was fun reading and the album sctualy is rwally great. What were they telling? Fowley was practically homeless, living in a Garsge, sleeping on the floor.
Avatar Tue. 8/1/17 1:44pm geezerette:

Cheers to the late Mr. Fowley, a cracked genius.
Avatar Tue. 8/1/17 1:44pm geezerette:

This show is so much fun.
Avatar    Tue. 8/1/17 1:45pm V Priceless:

boy, was I excited when I heard Ezrin was going to work w/Kiss after all his Alice Cooper greatness....alas, they couldn't hold a candle to the Coopers, as writers or players. Even at 15 years old, I remember thinking "Destroyer" was a major disappointment. Carry on.....
Avatar Tue. 8/1/17 1:45pm Tony Coulter:

Thanks, geezerette! Glad to hear it.....
