i'm good ken. i hadn't seen him for 10 years. he started drinking heavily after his wife left him. came home stumbling drunk and cracked his skull open on the sidewalk. i felt for my sister (his mother) as she is the one one found him the next morning - he had moved back in with her. her ex-husband and oldest son were both alcoholics and it followed the lineage on down. sometimes folks don't think they have any other escape. sigh.

My labmate in the 1980s used to make fun of my listening to WFMU in the lab by calling it the station for screeching cats. Shortly afterward there was the front page piece in the NY Press about WFMU with Kaz's cartoon of the station's xmtr as a screaming cat. This "Why" harks back to then.
