Is this the Dating Game?
Avatar    Thu. 4/20/17 2:20pm Jeff Golick:

If it is, I'm unclear on the rules.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Thu. 4/20/17 2:21pm drr:

the stars should just be gold to begin with.
I should only have to unstar the ones I don't rate as cream of the crop.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Thu. 4/20/17 2:25pm doctorjazz:

Late to the party, hi all.

Avatar Swag For Life Member Thu. 4/20/17 2:26pm drr:

I recently got reunited with my loaned-out Silvertone 1472 guitar amp, and I am literally playing along.
Avatar Thu. 4/20/17 2:28pm Matt F:

Will try to keep the songs as undifficult as possible. Everyone play along at home!

Cheers Matt! Thanks for playing my fave Hentchmen tune- Josh
Avatar Thu. 4/20/17 2:46pm Matt F:

I think the real original is Bo Diddley's "She's Fine, She's Mine".

Killing it!
Avatar    Thu. 4/20/17 2:48pm Jeff Golick:

Speaking of killing, I would be happy to have "Soul Pride" played at my funeral.

Matt! GrOOOOve!!!
Hello y'all!
Avatar Thu. 4/20/17 2:50pm Matt F:

I hope you're not asking me to kill you just so that can happen Jeff.
Avatar    Thu. 4/20/17 2:50pm Jeff Golick:

I'm already dead, man. This set has slayed me.
  Thu. 4/20/17 2:52pm Nashy Shutin:

The Squank was originally played by Sleepy LaBeef in his big screen drive-in debut.
Avatar    Thu. 4/20/17 2:54pm JP from KC:

Hulloo! Feels like forever since I've been on the boards, even though it's only been like 3 or 4 days. Work is nuts right now. The word "transition" has been thrown around a lot. It's... unnerving,
  Thu. 4/20/17 3:02pm Dungaroos Kipawah:

Matt Monroe wasn't cool?
Avatar Thu. 4/20/17 3:05pm Matt F:

ok him too but that's where I cut 'em off.
  Thu. 4/20/17 3:07pm Andy S.:

Love "You Don't Love Me" by Willie Cobbs. On YouTube, check out instro version "Shimmy Shimmy Walk" by the Megatons (aka Billy Lee Riley, playing most of the instruments).
Avatar    Thu. 4/20/17 3:09pm KevinfromBayRidge:

The REEEEEL Fleetwood!!
  Thu. 4/20/17 3:23pm Pete:

Nuts about A.A. !!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Thu. 4/20/17 3:25pm doctorjazz:

Nice version of Here Comes the Night, is this the original issue? (sounds different, but could be me).
Great set, btw!
Avatar Thu. 4/20/17 3:29pm Matt F:

It's the single version, maybe a slightly different mix?
Avatar Thu. 4/20/17 3:29pm Matt F:

geezerette: probably one a them muscle shoals guys...
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Thu. 4/20/17 3:32pm doctorjazz:

Wikipedia lists Jimmy Page as the guitarist on Here Comes The Night.
Avatar Thu. 4/20/17 3:35pm Matt F:

dr jazz: he played on a lot of sessions but as i understand it he didn't actually play on the them stuff that he claims to have played on.
Avatar    Thu. 4/20/17 3:36pm geezerette:

Oh, of course. Gee-tar genius. Thnx Matt, super digging.
Howdy Doc.

Avatar Swag For Life Member Thu. 4/20/17 3:42pm drr:

Diddie wa Diddie: too difficult
Avatar Thu. 4/20/17 3:43pm Matt F:

This one should be pretty easy though.
Avatar    Thu. 4/20/17 3:44pm Jeff Golick:

Dug into the wiki looking for guitarist on that Arthur Alexander, @geezerette, and it tossed up The Tex-Mex Fireball, George Tomsco.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Thu. 4/20/17 3:44pm doctorjazz:

Great track, this Lee Morgan, nice change of pace (bit of jazz).
Avatar    Thu. 4/20/17 3:45pm geezerette:

Doc, little bit of heaven. :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Thu. 4/20/17 3:45pm drr:

sure, it's just "Louie Louie" slowed way down right?
Avatar    Thu. 4/20/17 3:46pm Jeff Golick:

Just some 20-somethings throwing down.

I am itching to see the new Lee Morgan documentary.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Thu. 4/20/17 3:47pm doctorjazz:

This was so different than the stuff Morgan was doing like Sidewinder.
  Thu. 4/20/17 3:47pm Andy S.:

"Search for the New Land" -- beautiful piece of music.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Thu. 4/20/17 3:47pm doctorjazz:

want to catch the Documentary as well.
Avatar Thu. 4/20/17 3:48pm Matt F:

I saw it. Highly, highly recommended.
  Thu. 4/20/17 3:49pm Andy S.:

Documentary (I CALLED HIM MORGAN) is excellent. Same Swedish writer/director, Kasper Collen, made another outstanding jazz film in 2006: MY NAME IS ALBERT AYLER.

Avatar Swag For Life Member    Thu. 4/20/17 3:51pm doctorjazz:

Good review in the Times
Avatar    Thu. 4/20/17 3:51pm Jeff Golick:

I did see that Ayler doc, @Andy S. Agree with your assessment.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Thu. 4/20/17 3:53pm doctorjazz:

Lee Morgan – trumpet
Wayne Shorter – tenor sax
Herbie Hancock – piano
Grant Green – guitar
Reggie Workman – bass
Billy Higgins – drums
Quite a cast of characters.
Is the Ayler doc somewhere like Netflix? Have to check.
Avatar    Thu. 4/20/17 3:54pm geezerette:

haha,Peer Gynt quotes.
Avatar Thu. 4/20/17 3:54pm Matt F:

That's a mighty, mighty band.

Avatar Swag For Life Member Thu. 4/20/17 3:59pm Parq:

Is this Flamingos the best doo-wop record ever? Could be, I say.
Avatar    Thu. 4/20/17 3:59pm geezerette:

I only have ears for you, Matt.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Thu. 4/20/17 4:00pm doctorjazz:

Agree on both counts, Jeff!
Avatar Thu. 4/20/17 4:00pm Matt F:

Thanks all. Next time, I hope.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Thu. 4/20/17 4:00pm Parq:

Kevin, I remember seeing that movie as a kid and actually being distracted from the story for a minute upon hearing this record, for the first time.
Avatar    Thu. 4/20/17 4:01pm KevinfromBayRidge:
