Is that Fredericks of New Port Richey I spy?
Avatar    Wed. 4/19/17 3:15pm Sem Chumbo:

Hiya, Irwin, and attending Chusdians.

My theory: if it isn't like it used to be, go back in time and take an undistracted second look.
  Wed. 4/19/17 3:15pm melinda:

Good afternoon everyone

Avatar Wed. 4/19/17 3:31pm Irwin:

Great creepy video for the Bent Knee song.
Avatar Wed. 4/19/17 3:39pm Listening Out There:

Slowdive sounds a bit similar to Swan Dive...
Avatar Wed. 4/19/17 3:40pm Irwin:

The name sounds like Swan Dive, but their music sounds more like Aussie shoegazers Flyying Colours.
Avatar Wed. 4/19/17 3:42pm Passaic River Blues:

@Irwin: Yes! Flyying Colours-esque for serious.
Avatar Wed. 4/19/17 3:43pm Hoboken Jack:

Good to see you, Fredericks! It's your old favorite phone room volunteer Jack.
  Wed. 4/19/17 3:43pm berbo:

Personally, I like to talk to the wind.
Avatar Wed. 4/19/17 3:45pm βrian:

They make volunteer jacks as well as phone jacks?
Avatar Wed. 4/19/17 3:47pm Hoboken Jack:

Slowdive mutated into Mojave 3 and has now mutated back into Slowdive.

Hello again. Listening to aid in the digestion of Halal-cart lamb n rice...
Avatar Wed. 4/19/17 3:51pm Passaic River Blues:

@Hoboken Jack: that, too. Whatever it's akin to, I'm just glad they put a new record after 20 years.
Avatar Wed. 4/19/17 3:52pm Fredericks:

Oh my favorite phone answerer!

What if you think you like jazz but actually hate jazz? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqRiLjCX8VE
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 4/19/17 4:04pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Just think of it as Blues for people who play *rillly* well. It's no big deal - in a way...in another way, it's the AfricanAmerican Classic Music & it *is* intimidating & should be...
Avatar Wed. 4/19/17 4:10pm Hoboken Jack:

What ever became of Johnny Hates Jazz?
Avatar Wed. 4/19/17 4:10pm βrian:

I've long tried to not like jazz, but I've never been able to pull it off. And just now I ordered Song for My Father.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 4/19/17 4:14pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

@A Coward: That video: How is Jazz like Yuppie Hipster (Yipster??) honky middleclass stuff people only pretend to like? As if Jazz sells anywhere?
  Wed. 4/19/17 4:26pm Marie:

Irwin, thank you so much for playing Joe Frank shows!!!!! How is he doing?
  Wed. 4/19/17 4:27pm Anonymous Coward:

Oh I dunno. I wasnt trying to say anything. I like jazz. i just always thought that video was funny. More for Kate Micucci trumpet impersonation than anything else.

Although if I had to try and support the argument that there is some kind of hipster jazz thing going on I would probably point to Bad Bad Not Good getting tapped to back Gostface Killa and also showing up in popular tv shows.
Avatar Wed. 4/19/17 4:28pm Michael 98145:

Wishing him well : www.gofundme.com...
Avatar Wed. 4/19/17 4:29pm βrian:

Aw, Jack!
  Wed. 4/19/17 4:36pm Marie:

Thanks Michael. I hesitate to say this but the Gofundme page reads almost like one of his shows...
Avatar Wed. 4/19/17 4:37pm Michael 98145:

Jack Kornfield is the Buddhist speaker. I looked him up the other week and had been wondering who that was for years
Avatar Wed. 4/19/17 5:02pm Irwin:

It's Fred. Fred Kornmanman.
Avatar Wed. 4/19/17 5:17pm Michael 98145:

i've certainly never heard this before -
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 4/19/17 5:17pm Alison Porchnik:

Is "The Landlord" the unauthorized sequel to "The Tenant"?
Avatar Wed. 4/19/17 5:18pm Irwin:

Al wrote and recorded the soundtrack for the film The Landlord. 1970 or '72, IIRC.
Avatar Wed. 4/19/17 5:25pm Michael 98145:

Avatar Wed. 4/19/17 5:33pm Irwin:

Irwin. All.
  Wed. 4/19/17 5:42pm Brendan:

Good afternoon all. This wah wah has a nice porn vibe to it
  Wed. 4/19/17 5:43pm asheville jon:

Nice groove to this.
  Wed. 4/19/17 5:44pm Dean:

Record cover says only "keyboards." Searched music and news databases, too. No mention of ondioline. But there's a great article in NYT, Nov. 5, '68, with headline, "Jam Sessions Gain Popularity With Rock Artists Across U.S." Mentions Kooper, Bloomfield, Prokop. Kooper compares jamming to "study hall. You learn a lot from it."
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 4/19/17 5:46pm PMD:

How nice to have soothing tunes before the chaos of 7SD
  Wed. 4/19/17 5:46pm Stevel:

Came home, settled in on the porch to wait for the rain, with a short smoke and a cup of coffee. Irwin makes it perfect. Thanks.
Avatar Wed. 4/19/17 5:47pm Irwin:

On the heels of Kooper founding BS&T, Prokop launched Lighthouse, another first-gen horn-rock band.
Avatar Wed. 4/19/17 5:55pm Michael 98145:

thanks again, Irwin
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 4/19/17 5:57pm Parq:

I saw Lighthouse once. Such great songs! "One Fine Morning", and, uh ...
Avatar Wed. 4/19/17 5:57pm Passaic River Blues:

Thank you, IC!
