Yes, Doug. The only problem is that RIGHT NOW there's SO MANY choices of stuff being streamed that I hardly ever think of listening to archived material (let alone hard media such as CDs or even 78s). Just last month while killing time on Spring St. in Newton NJ, I stumbled on a studio where DJs were streaming NewtRadio, a service that was just days old. From the storefront & the shelves of CDs, I'd thought it was a record store! NewtRadio's pretty good too, 24/7 with a majority of it live DJed; it's primarily to promote the Newton Theater, a venerable art house. It's sort of the reverse of what you did with Monty Hall, in that they were a performance space and opened a Webcast project across the street & down the block from them. | |

Doug, I would like to say that this is a great show. Lane where were you earlier, Doug's second set has some wonderful steel intros, no idea of the players though. |

![]() Lane Gray, I need to play me some Seldom Scene again. They were ubiquitous in the DC area when I was growing up. |
![]() |
![]() Or Lloyd Green/Charlie Pride Kawliga (look, I know the jacket says "in person" from Panther Hall 1967 says Charlie, but that's one of the finest steel guitar records EVER. Lloyd was on FIRE) |
![]() |
![]() In fact, the Seldom Scene were from my hometown of Bethesda, Maryland. |
![]() |
![]() The next selection is a puzzlement. Is it about a girlfriend or is it about a steak sauce? |
![]() |
![]() (pssst, Doug...) |
![]() |
![]() hmmm. why have i never listened to this side of the 'Get It' 45? this is great! |
![]() |
![]() Doug, my dad's name is Tom. I might know about them (Mike was my steel teacher, too) |
![]() |
![]() (Lane knows about the Seldom Scene...a little...) |
![]() |
![]() I just woke up, Brian. It's my turn to drive now |
![]() |
![]() Oh WOW, Lane Gray! So are you from Bethesda? |

![]() Still does. YouTube "Wait a Minute Tommy Hunter" for some Seldom Scene. He's currently in three bands. Not bad for 75 |
![]() |
![]() This group release a compilation of unreleased and demos called "Alternative Facts." No they didn't. |
![]() |
![]() Hi soundz. |
![]() |
![]() Our Hank Williams cover is also a HI sound. Now can you guess what it is?! |
![]() |
![]() pawn shop Hi |
![]() |
![]() Lane, I was a big Seldom Scene fan back in my salad days. Digging your recounting your dad's adventures. |

![]() He's got you there, UM. Science is real, and all that. |

Imagining what Al might be wearing if he delivered the number live around the time of its release is half of the fun. |

![]() (Ok, yeah, Willie Mitchell did produce that Known Facts. It all comes together.) |
![]() |
![]() I love Ray's Hey Good Lookin. My first band covered it. With horns. |
