Soon as I got mine home, the first thing to go was the rig of chord keys; Rip that sucker off. Expose them strings, and do unsavory things thereupon. There is also a pupose-built pickup available which fits under the strings for marvelous, grotty amplification.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:18pm
coelacanth∅:

the chord-making things on my autoharp sound like crap unless i really lean into it -then it goes out of tune, and tuning that thing is a significant chunk out of my day...so yeah maybe not worth it. do what the Rev said.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:19pm
Scott Williams:

Rev, didn't Violet let a little plastic toy bug walk all over his on the radio show that one time? Might not have been an autoharp...

Avatar 5:35pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

I have never personally met an autoharp that anyone had actually troubled to tune all those strings on - tho' June Carter & John Sebastian seem to indicate that it can be done...just as soon stick to six strings & actually learn where to put my fingas...indeed - the temptation to repurpose the contraption into a tone generator would probably be too great...
