Yowza! Sweet transition from Neu jam to Floyd!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 11/22/16 9:20am AndrewC.:

Anyone got a spare 3 and half million, so I can buy this Floyd set?
  Tue. 11/22/16 9:21am BrianFromMA:

As a huge Jr. Parker fan I have to say the Beatles tracks he covered are among the most bizarre "what were they thinking?" moments in record biz history. The original LP also has covers of Taxman and Lady Madonna.
  Tue. 11/22/16 9:22am Tom:

Where's ya get this version of "Embryo"!?!?!
  Tue. 11/22/16 9:23am JakeGould:

Hey! So you make sure to eat sonething for breakfast today, Matt?

Embryo merging into Echoes?
  Tue. 11/22/16 9:24am Tom:

I feel like I'm being ignored. Embryo?!

Wow, Embryo meets Meddle meets Echoes.

Spend some 600 € Euros for the Luxury Box!
WFMU is lucky to own a double promo-CD (not for sale).
  Tue. 11/22/16 9:26am fredr:

I remember this version of Embryo on an old bootleg. Great stuff Matt!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 11/22/16 9:26am Guido from Cologne:

  Tue. 11/22/16 9:27am Tom:

No, this is a non mashed track. "Embryo". But I've NEVER heard it before. And I've heard many. Maybe "unauthorized". We, some call them "bootleg". Rare recording.
  Tue. 11/22/16 9:27am Tom:

Thanks Guido From Cologne!

Average habit of vinyl-bootleggers:
Release fave tracks from CD-Boxes on expensive LPs.
  Tue. 11/22/16 9:31am BrianFromMA:

Guido, back in my misspent youth boots were rather more interesting even if the quality (on poorly pressed vinyl) was usually pathetic.
Avatar Tue. 11/22/16 9:35am listener_fern:

Matt, you're killing it today. I'm digging the noises my speakers are making.
  Tue. 11/22/16 9:41am Mike VL:

GREAT set Garbage Man!
  Tue. 11/22/16 9:42am Tom:

I have so many Floyd boots I don't know what I have and don't have anymore. It seems with the release of "The Early Years" they tapped into those same sources. And finally we'll have high fidelity versions of them. Not that the versions we had were bad - it is just obvious that they're not directly from the tapes in the vault. The problem now is, how MUCH are they going to release?! Oh, and I just ordered the 2xCD Early years. I wish it was available on vinyl, too. Maybe it is but I haven't seen it yet. .
Peace in,

vocally, this kinda reminds me of the franz ferdinand cover of this song
  Tue. 11/22/16 9:46am fredr:

Tom, the bootleg I have with that Embryo was called Libest Spacement Monitor from the 70's. Live on John Peels BBC show.

Slipping into the algal pond. Good morning.
  Tue. 11/22/16 9:51am BrianFromMA:

Seems like all the record companies are paying attention to the 50 year public domain rule in Europe so we'll see plenty more late 60s archival stuff flooding the market like this Floyd stuff and the recent Dylan box. I won't live long enough to listen to all of this anyway.
  Tue. 11/22/16 9:55am SeanG:

good stuff

Per OED:

The seat of a pair of trousers.

pl. Trousers. Now spec. loosely-cut trousers for informal wear, esp. those worn by women.
  Tue. 11/22/16 10:59am rw:

Slacks must be in opposition to tights. That's my guess.

Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 11/22/16 11:02am Jeff:

"Slacks" is how Aunt Agnes says pants.

Unless Aunt Agnes is British. Because over there, pants means underpants, and trousers is the right word for what you mean by pants. Or slacks. Pants also means bad, so if I were mean and English I'd say this show is pants. Except it isn't.

Got it? Good.
