  Thu. 9/29/16 4:03pm Lyle:

Michael Flowers. I played with him briefly circa 1986 when we were both in a late-period incarnation of Starbuck. By then, they had been dropped by Arista, ATCO, and Asylum, and we're about to be dropped by Alternative Tentacles. As you might imagine, they were quite a different band by then. No more, "Moonlight Feels Right." At that time, they were working on their "In Search of Buttons Gwinnett" LP. At any rate, Flowers was not easy to work with. He was prone to fits of crabbiness and chair-kicking. In fact, it was a chair he kicked out from underneath then lead singer and flautist, Tim Weisberg, that got him axed from the combo. I lost touch with him afterwards and hadn't thought of him until now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 🎃 Thu. 9/29/16 4:04pm melinda:

  Thu. 9/29/16 4:14pm clay Pigeon:

FBI? Ha! It was the NSA! Actually the Dusty Show will feature a re-airing of a story I wrote called ... The Story, a couple of years back. It features Steve Perry, John Mellencamp, David Gates, and others in a late-career romp across the USA en route to Sandy Nelson's house. I am home with the flu. :-(. .. Love you, Fab!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Thu. 9/29/16 4:15pm Jeff:

Musto is pronounced muss-toe, not moose-toe.

Danny Fields was pretty much my favorite part of that MC5 doc that never got released.
  Thu. 9/29/16 4:15pm Fredericks:

Drink lots of fluids, Bhurd.
  Thu. 9/29/16 4:15pm SeanG:

I hope you feel better Clay!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Thu. 9/29/16 4:17pm Jeff:

Recover well, Mr. Pigeon!

I picture you under a comforter with an icebag on your head and a thermometer sticking out of your mouth, just like the old cartoon representation of someone sick.
Avatar Thu. 9/29/16 4:18pm Cheri Pi:

Heal quickly dear CP!
  Thu. 9/29/16 4:24pm Fredericks:

I unknowingly picked up a couple of Sandy Nelson records recently in a mystery bag!

@Clay, is there a blood test for it?
  Thu. 9/29/16 4:34pm Fredericks:

Yes, that's the the BEAT. And Teenage Dance Party.

Not believed to be a problem unless pregnant.
(Zika, not Teen Beat.)
  Thu. 9/29/16 4:36pm Ross:

Feel better Clay. When is the barbershop quartet debut show?
Avatar Thu. 9/29/16 4:38pm Sem Chumbo:

I know there's a joke in Teen Beat and pregnant and problem, but I'll be damned if I know what it is.
Hope no long term problem, Mr. Pigeon.
  Thu. 9/29/16 4:42pm Brendan:

Sending some positive juju your way Clay. May your recovery be rapid and your fever be only one of creativity, man.
  Thu. 9/29/16 4:47pm Fredericks:

Avatar Thu. 9/29/16 4:49pm Jesse K:

  Thu. 9/29/16 4:49pm P-90:

  Thu. 9/29/16 4:50pm Fredericks:

Hell, Clay's survived multiple concussions and shows nary a sign of damage.

Ghedalia rules. saw him at Oto. then the time he played COlour Out Of Space he sang with a semi erection
Avatar Swag For Life Member Thu. 9/29/16 4:54pm Ike:

Controversial assertion by me: Clint is a lousy director! Is "Million Dollar Baby" or "Crash" the worst Best Picture winner of modern times? Or are they equally moronic? Discuss!
  Thu. 9/29/16 4:54pm Fredericks:

Hey, what''s this music heal?
Avatar Thu. 9/29/16 4:54pm Fabio:

@Dylan: you ARE joking... say yes!
  Thu. 9/29/16 4:55pm Marc15:

The last song translates from Japanese:
"Put in your words"
Avatar Thu. 9/29/16 4:56pm Fabio:

@Ike: Crash was not directed by Eastwood. And High Plains Drifter is great! but I will admit that he has made a few dogs...
  Thu. 9/29/16 4:57pm clay Pigeon:

The Color Out Of Space. Honestly one of the best horror stories I ever read. Loved it! HP Lovecraft.

another nod for High Plains Drifter, here.
Avatar Thu. 9/29/16 4:58pm chocolate monk:

hey Clay,, yes a GREAT story. Fabio, nope, he really did get into the set so much he got visibly excited. respect.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Thu. 9/29/16 4:58pm Ike:

No no, I was not trying to pin "Crash" on Eastwood, I just went off on a compare-and-contrast-the-terrible-Oscar-winners tangent there. Sorry for the weird phrasing.
  Thu. 9/29/16 5:00pm Brendan:

Thunderbolt and Lightfoot had a distinct 70s feel with a brooding sense of fatalism yet there was that honor among thieves thing going on too.
I thought Eastwood did ok directing Josey Wales.
Avatar Thu. 9/29/16 5:00pm Fabio:

@ Dylan: NOOOOOO! that is crazy! I hope he doesn't get that "into it" when he plays here!!
Avatar Thu. 9/29/16 5:01pm Chris from DC:

Tried watching Crash again recently. Woof.
Avatar Thu. 9/29/16 5:02pm chocolate monk:

  Thu. 9/29/16 5:25pm Linus van P:

The Grerat Pumpkin would have nothing to do with that insincere windbag. "Great Bumpkin" is more like it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 🎃 Thu. 9/29/16 5:27pm Michael 98145:

Interwebbing : "Ákos Rózmann showed particular devotion to his work during more than thirty active years. During his lifetime he never sought, nor did he win any mentionable recognition. As a true modernist, he didn’t compose with an audience or the critics in mind. His mission was to compose for the future. It was his conviction that the mystical energy for compositional work should derive straight from God."
  Thu. 9/29/16 5:27pm Twilo:

One or two songs ago made me think about this footage they have on youtube of huge reenactments of ancient battles that some Russians have in the woods. Has anyone ever seen that? Wild!
