![]() Coach, of course, Bill. I was very surprised. |

![]() Haha. Its kiinni or then just shorten it to just turpa kii. Ive been learning russian. Having hard time with the 7 different s' and other grammar rules. |

![]() Thanks, mauri, I feel a little more Finnish already. Russian sounds like a man choking on his tongue while falling down the basement stairs. Gotta be a tough one. |

![]() On a recent trip to Europe, Mrs. Parq upgraded us to something called "Premium Coach", sort of a semi-first-class. I was taken aback when she told me the additional cost, but lemmie tell you, it was worth every dang penny. Heck, as Alan King once cracked, if you're in AA, it's worth the extra money just to test your will power. |

![]() @Parq: my biggest bugbear on long-haul flights is children. On a recent trip to India my two considerably well-off friends flew the Premium Economy (more leg room, more menu choice, real glasses etc), only to be sitting close to some brawling brats. There should be a section for families like there used to be for smokers. |

![]() That Les Georges Leningrad was crazywild, in a Quebecois kinda way. A compliment. |

![]() |
![]() It's hard to be silent when eating, but at the very least people should try to keep their mouths shut. For some reason, though, I find it adorable when cats make eating noises. |

![]() breakfast table smackytismack is the worst. |

![]() For me, it's well-to-do college age or recent-grad age girls talking loudly in That Accent. You know the one I mean, that vocal-fry-sexy-baby vowel-mangling accent that almost all the white women born after 1980 seem to have all of a sudden. Becuz I'm like sewwww seck of steedents gatting ann thih plane and tokking that in that rully steepid sound. |

Doug Schulkind:
About 20 years ago, I was vacationing with my wife on the Maine coast. We were way down east, more than half-way to Canada. One day we were hiking a trail on a bird sanctuary island and part of the trail took us along the craggy coastline. For about 30 minutes we were walking along and saw another couple headed toward us on the same trail, each couple zigging and zagging into and out of view as the coastline undulated. Finally after a good while, the two couples finally met and passed each other, and as we did, the other fellow saw my WFMU cap and said, "We're from Jersey City. We love WFMU!" @Stanley You are a mind reader. Just this morning, I emailed Uncle Michael and said, the Drummer Stream should do its own t-shirt next marathon. I kid you not. |
