Great show Jim ! A bit long but I enjoyed most of it

Can always count on Mr. W for some Gorky's. Hi Scott :)
Avatar Mon. 6/27/16 3:04pm Wild Neil:

Gorky sounds like Velvet Underground...
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 6/27/16 3:08pm Stevel:

Ruth White would be a tremendous addition to any social occasion.
Avatar Mon. 6/27/16 3:09pm coelacanth:

greetings Scott and awl

Jim's show today was epic. i have to set aside a chunk of time someday to listen to the archive.
Avatar Mon. 6/27/16 3:12pm Cecile:

this sounds like Moby Grape crashing up against the MC5.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 6/27/16 3:12pm fred:

Guten TZAG Scott and listeners. I got distracted by Aesop Rock's cat video and missed Jim Price
Avatar Mon. 6/27/16 3:15pm Parq:

Good strong start, Scott. Each track so far has prompted me to stop and listen more closely.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 6/27/16 3:17pm Scott Williams:

Howdydoo everyone?! Glad to see you. Lotta short songs today, I may be scarce up in here
Avatar Mon. 6/27/16 3:18pm coelacanth:

it's okay. that'll make up for Price's long, drawn-out show.
Avatar Mon. 6/27/16 3:20pm geezerette:

"Flight to the Light" just right.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 6/27/16 3:20pm Greg from ZONE 5:

Oi Scott!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 6/27/16 3:22pm Ken From Hyde Park:

The Iceland soccer announcer is probably screaming a lot today. Scott can just stream his microphone for a while and take a break.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 6/27/16 3:22pm Scott Williams:

Oidydoo Greg!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 6/27/16 3:26pm fred:

Seriously, this soccer+ramadan thing has ruined this month for me. Just too many aggressive drunks
Avatar Mon. 6/27/16 3:28pm Wild Neil:

PEACE Scott et al.
@Fred-aggressive hooligans or something? What's going on?
Avatar Mon. 6/27/16 3:31pm geezerette:

Love "Love".
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 6/27/16 3:39pm fred:

@Wild Neil: not hooligan-scale, but aggressive. Drunk guys annoying fans of other teams, hitting on women and puking around. Add to that "muslims" who mix fasting with binge drinking. Not a pretty sight
Avatar Mon. 6/27/16 3:39pm geezerette:

Drinking Electricity gives me a buzz.

Avatar Mon. 6/27/16 3:45pm geezerette:

heehee :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 6/27/16 3:46pm fred:

@Wild Neil: Rugby fans are so much better. They're at least as drunk, but cheerful and never violent. Soccer fans are a powder keg at best
Avatar Mon. 6/27/16 3:49pm Wild Neil:

@Fred-France sounds like a real Charlie foxtrot right now then. Allah aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaakbarf. Heh. THAT was definitely not culturally sensitive, a cheap shot for sure.

Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 6/27/16 3:57pm fred:

@Wild Neil: Not sensitive? It does capture a lot of the cultural issue here. Second/third generation arabs are rejected by everyone. My brand of assholes and those from their (grand)parents countries
Avatar Mon. 6/27/16 3:59pm Wild Neil:

I was worried my stupid joke would provoke a shitstorm of controversy. Glad it was ignored. Phew. So these people are not truly French nor Algerian or wherever they are from-they are caught in the middle?
Avatar Mon. 6/27/16 4:07pm Cecile:

depending on who you talk to, the Koran doesn't necessarily ban alcohol. It, however, looks askance at sloppy public drunkenness.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 6/27/16 4:07pm fred:

I'm biased there (I have Tunisian ancestors), but I say they're truly French. Most of my compatriots don't agree, which is why your shame at electing Trump will be obliterated by our electing Le Pen. Those of Algerian descent are not welcome in Algeria, they're seen as spoiled bullies who wouldn't last a day there on their own. They wish there was a middle way, there's none. They're French, and our only hope is for all of us to embrace that
Avatar Mon. 6/27/16 4:08pm Cecile:

I think Trump keeps losing votes the longer he goes.
Avatar Mon. 6/27/16 4:09pm Cecile:

People born in a country shouldn't have to be on probation for generations if their parents don't match the norm.
Avatar Mon. 6/27/16 4:11pm dale:

bought this rhizoshphere album in the import section of record theatre in buffalo when it came out. so weird to think about hearing it on the radio almost 40 years later.
Avatar Mon. 6/27/16 4:12pm Wild Neil:

@Fred-oh, I am a Catholic nationalist proud to vote for Donald Trump. But I do not engage in ad-hominem attacks.
@Cecile-beating Hillary will be another whole ball of wax compared to beating a field of 17 other Rebpublican candidates. I think this election will be extremely vigorous...and hopefully nobody gets murdered... Trump does have a problem self-monitoring what he says, sometimes I think he is his own worst enemy.

@Wild Neil: I don't understand your position, but I don't mean to attack you personally. I don't know you enough to do that. I don't like his positions on immigrants and Muslims, but I won't say you share them, because I don't know that

FWIW, I seem to recall “Wild Neil” seems to troll here. So hey.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 6/27/16 4:25pm fred:

@Wild Neil: I sent you a contact request, I think this is not the right forum but I'd like to chat with you, I think I could learn quite a bit
Avatar Mon. 6/27/16 4:26pm Wild Neil:

@Jake-not seeking to proseltyze, merely state facts of what I believe. A gentlemen mentioned shame, and I said I am not ashamed. I think trolling involves much more than that. Just stating another point of view exists-and that I subscribe to it- is not trolling.
Avatar Mon. 6/27/16 4:27pm Cecile:

hey, let's make some soccer is better than hakarl jokes in anticipation of an Icelandic victory!

Avatar Mon. 6/27/16 4:33pm Wild Neil:

I looked up Hakarl...yuk!!
Avatar Mon. 6/27/16 4:33pm Cecile:

I saw them back in the day. they are great, checked out their double album from a few years back - don't know why they aren't more popular around here than they were.
Avatar Mon. 6/27/16 4:34pm Cecile:

I am sure if I was an overwintering Viking on a rocky island waiting for provisions that never would come, fermented shark would be pretty great.
Avatar Mon. 6/27/16 4:34pm Cecile:

I can still make fun of it, though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 6/27/16 4:35pm Michael 98145:

fermented shark is wheeled out for the tourists, tho some of the old-timers actually like it
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 6/27/16 4:35pm Scott Williams:

@Steve, yep saw em last night. wow, Janet Weiss hits almost as hard as Dennis Diken!
Avatar Mon. 6/27/16 4:36pm Cecile:

sounds like lutefisk here.
Avatar Mon. 6/27/16 4:36pm JakeGould:

Is fermented shark artisanal? Hand-made in small batches? Are their purveyors or is it a bespoken delicacy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 6/27/16 4:36pm Michael 98145:

don't think i've ever heard this particular Albert Ayler. thank you.
Avatar Mon. 6/27/16 4:36pm coelacanth:

i'm a fish eater, but i'm not tempted to try hakarl.
Avatar Mon. 6/27/16 4:36pm Cecile:

I'll take lye over uric acid any day, though, so I might have to try lutefisk one of these days.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 6/27/16 4:37pm Michael 98145:

@cecile, nope ...
Avatar Mon. 6/27/16 4:37pm Wild Neil:

I read about the fermented shark needed to be so since its too toxic to eat when fresh...wow...
Avatar Mon. 6/27/16 4:39pm Cecile:

yeah, you're right Michael. No fisk for me. Thanks for talking me off the ledge.
Avatar Mon. 6/27/16 4:40pm coelacanth:

lots of sharks are eaten fresh, though. it may just be that species.
Avatar Mon. 6/27/16 4:41pm JakeGould:

Avatar Mon. 6/27/16 4:42pm Cecile:

@coel, and Bridget managed to survive. I had the major major pleasure of doing sound for her when she played w/ Michael Chapman & Steve Gunn in our Monty Hall last year. She was totally captivating, total pro, and also super friendly, cool and easy to work with. what an amazing person she is

Avatar Mon. 6/27/16 5:30pm Cecile:

I think you'll like the vibe very much, and they pulled out a couple of good oldies. they also had a lot of fun doing visual jokes with the big TV screens. Never saw anyone do that before, what a great idea.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 6/27/16 5:33pm Scott Williams:

@Cecile, no; but I did see "The King of Comedy" on the big screen this weekend! anyone not seen that one yet? jeez, it holds up! best Scorcese, best everybody in it
