I'm working on a theory that germs don't spread via the internet. I'm listening, but I don't have any illness yet. If I fall ill, then I'll assume that germs do spread that way.
Avatar Sun. 3/27/16 10:16pm Dave Mandl:

Hey there PMD, Carmichael, Cheri.
Avatar Sun. 3/27/16 10:16pm Dave Mandl:

AB-Negative, for what it's worth… nonconformist from the beginning, so it seems.
Avatar Sun. 3/27/16 10:28pm Cheri Pi:

I used to buy everything Planet Mu
Avatar Sun. 3/27/16 10:28pm JakeGould:

Oooo… Digging this “Venetian Snares.”
Avatar Sun. 3/27/16 10:28pm coelacanth:

i so wish i was AB-. i'm just plain ol' coelacanth, like all the other normal ones.
Avatar Sun. 3/27/16 10:30pm coelacanth:

Phife died yesterday too...which really sucks, but i know his music doesn't fit in so well in most wfmu programming.
Avatar Sun. 3/27/16 10:31pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

used to give blood regularly (there was a red-cross vampire shop on the corner) -- come to think of it, they did seem creepily eager to get their mitts on mine...
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 3/27/16 10:31pm Uncle Michael:

I've always dug this ELP song.
Avatar Sun. 3/27/16 10:31pm coelacanth:

Great album, trilogy.
  Sun. 3/27/16 10:31pm PMD:

O- I help everyone.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 3/27/16 10:32pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Man - Keith Emerson had Classical & Jazz chops in spades - things blended into a unique aggressive style - w/ his showmanship, like he was determined to blast keys out of uncoolness & into everything Rawk was. & - he was an early November baby like me.
Avatar Sun. 3/27/16 10:33pm Dave Mandl:

@UM, @coelacanth: Agreed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 3/27/16 10:33pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

A Synthesizer pioneer.
Avatar Sun. 3/27/16 10:33pm coelacanth:

  Sun. 3/27/16 10:34pm M:

Hi Dave, in remembrance of K Emerson...how about The Nice, oohhh there's a nice ELP tune!!
  Sun. 3/27/16 10:36pm greyhoos:

Evening, all. Hope all are sufficiently plague-free. And since we're on the topic...

Avatar Sun. 3/27/16 10:36pm Dave Mandl:

Hi, M. I think just one Emerson tune for tonight, though I'd love to play more.
Avatar Sun. 3/27/16 10:36pm Dave Mandl:

@greyhoos: Wow!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 3/27/16 10:37pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

'Brain Salad Surgery' (1973) by ELP was always important for me - unabashedly in defiance of all Prog haters.
  Sun. 3/27/16 10:39pm M:

Good enough, Curved Air!!!
Avatar Sun. 3/27/16 10:40pm Dave Mandl:

Prog-haters also hated Tarkus, which I've always liked.
  Sun. 3/27/16 10:42pm M:

Long ago I had a cat I named Tarkus.
Avatar Sun. 3/27/16 10:43pm Dave Mandl:

@M: Wow, I tip my hat to you.
  Sun. 3/27/16 10:47pm Marc15:

Rex was also ill yesterday afternoon
Avatar Sun. 3/27/16 10:55pm Dave Mandl:

@Marc15: Ah, I didn't know that. I was away yesterday and missed Rex's show.
  Sun. 3/27/16 10:56pm Jeff g.:

As part of the Drummer Stream crew laid low by the Internet germs (watch out Ken), I'm gonna try and get some rest. Thanks, Dave!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 3/27/16 10:57pm Fox (Rā-chul):

When I was in my 20's, I got a ride from NJ to Virginia for our annual family reunion with my spinster Aunt. On the ride back, my other aunt came along for the ride. Knowing the hours of isolation and boredom I was facing, my father lent me his CD walkman and Tarkus. It saved my life. I listened to it endlessly.
Avatar Sun. 3/27/16 10:58pm Dave Mandl:

You too, Jeff? Yeah, rest up. Feel better.
Avatar Sun. 3/27/16 10:59pm coelacanth:

g'night Jeff
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 3/27/16 11:02pm Uncle Michael:

G'night Jeff.
Avatar Sun. 3/27/16 11:03pm JakeGould:

@Fox(Rā-chul): Cool story!
Avatar Sun. 3/27/16 11:04pm coelacanth:

i've got to pull those albums out. i was very into elp pretty young, and so pretty poor.(& with lots of things on my list)
...i ended up finally getting tarkus at what turned out to be the end of my elp infatuation and never really knew it, even though i have it.
- i'm imagining it with headphones, as a passenger in a car. i like this idea.
Avatar Sun. 3/27/16 11:18pm Dave Mandl:

@coelacanth: Do it. Side One (one long track) is very good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 3/27/16 11:20pm ἶkε:

Good evening. Great to see all of you. Holy shmow, it's Cheri Pi *and* Rev. Turnip Druid, normally mostly just working-hours commenters. Salut!

Hey, Ike.
Avatar Sun. 3/27/16 11:38pm JakeGould:
