Order and disorder in a freeform haze of terribly-played guitars, shorted-out electronics, found audio detritus, strange sounds from strange lands all around. Psych-punk-junk, collage, even pop. Lots of in-studio live performances to boot.

Hello Brian & Cecile & everybody, nice creepy start to the show here
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 3/1/16 3:03pm Cliff:

Wow, just looked up Current 93 on Brainwashed.com, didn't know he was still putting out so much stuff.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 3/1/16 3:11pm Cliff:

I played Dogs Blood Rising for a friend of mine back in college in the 90's. She was studying Ancient Greek and recognized the word "Antichrists" written on the CD, so she got out her dictionary and translated the whole thing and it turned out to be a passage from the Book of Revelation.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 3/1/16 3:12pm cklequ:

Is this some sort of Blood Stereo/Bren’t Lewiis collaboration?
Avatar Tue. 3/1/16 3:12pm Michael in Seattle:

Why do (some) British people sound so skin-crawlingly creepy to my American ears
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 3/1/16 3:17pm Andrew Waterloo:

That scene is much creepier out of context.
Avatar    Tue. 3/1/16 3:19pm maestroso:

What is that scene from? I hear it often on FMU.
  Tue. 3/1/16 3:26pm Polyus:

re: Current 93 - the last couple of records I have heard have actually been pretty conventional, guitar-based things. Conventional by Tibet standards, anyway.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 3/1/16 3:26pm Andrew Waterloo:

A British TV series called Spaced. It's a Simon Pegg thing.
  Tue. 3/1/16 3:29pm Polyus:

@ BT -Did you notice that Gimme Gimme Gimme cover worked in a bit of the ABBA song as well?
Avatar    Tue. 3/1/16 3:30pm maestroso:

Ah, thanks Andrew.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 3/1/16 3:30pm steve:

wonder how ID recreates his sounds live
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 3/1/16 3:31pm steve:

wow nice!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 3/1/16 3:31pm Cliff:

Polyus, there sure as heck weren't no "conventional, guitar-based things" on that C93 track Brian played
  Tue. 3/1/16 3:34pm paula pc:

everything seems to be fine here
  Tue. 3/1/16 3:34pm Polyus:

Cliff - I mean Aleph At Hallucinatory Mountain or I Was The First Of The Field That Fell. And again, I mean by Tibet standards, which is still pretty unconventional, obviously.
Avatar Tue. 3/1/16 3:34pm Chris from DC:

This is great. Been digging Dumitrescu on Bryce's show.
Avatar Tue. 3/1/16 3:37pm fred:

I remember seeing an ensemble called Hyperion that Iancu Dumitrescu and Ana-Maria Avram had put together from noise and improv performers. Really good stuff that didn't even stop to laugh at the genre barriers they were breaking
Avatar Tue. 3/1/16 3:38pm Brian Turner:

They were amazing to talk to last night, I have the feeling these live presentations are gonna be spectacular, they're completely meticulous and not random in their presentation.
Avatar Tue. 3/1/16 3:39pm TDK60:

Sounds like metal being struck, partially.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 3/1/16 3:39pm Cliff:

Polyus - right, I just thought it was funny that you'd be mentioning conventional guitars after hearing that track which sounded more like field recordings of ghosts mumbling and screeching in a graveyard ;)
  Tue. 3/1/16 3:40pm paula pc:

that sounds so amazing - gonna figure out a way to go. THANK YOU for encouraging us, Brian
Avatar Tue. 3/1/16 3:49pm fred:

Ha! I was about to thank you for playing Mamiedaragon last week. Looks like I was right to encourage Thomas to send you some tapes
Avatar Tue. 3/1/16 3:50pm Brian Turner:

sincere thanks Fred --- the package was great ---
Avatar Tue. 3/1/16 3:51pm Cecile:

If you never heard this kind of stuff at your gram's, you'll never understand why jazz and rock 'n' roll had to happen
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 3/1/16 3:52pm Cliff:

I step out my apartment for five minutes, and now we're playing old-timey laughing music?!
Avatar Tue. 3/1/16 3:52pm Rich in Washington:

I just now learned that there's going to be a Florence Foster Jenkins biopic.
Avatar Tue. 3/1/16 3:54pm Cecile:

this sounds like it could be both kind of savage and pretty sweet at the same time
Avatar Tue. 3/1/16 3:55pm Alejandroool:

Checkin in - enjoying the show while getting work done, afternoon everyone
Avatar Tue. 3/1/16 3:55pm fred:

@Brian: Mamiedaragon features one of the people from Instants Chavirés (my favorite venue), though I don't think she was there when you came for that Group Doueh show

she had a boutique synth company for a while and then i think she stopped with music? she's really nice.

...workin' in the day again but not missing everything dadgummitz...
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 3/1/16 5:45pm steve:

yeah, im disappointed that Flower Electronics (the synth company) hasn't done anything in so long, its been ages, though i've still seen some for sale second hand lately. her noise synths were so good.
Avatar Tue. 3/1/16 5:51pm Mutant:

This sort of sounds like High Rise cover band.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 3/1/16 5:52pm common:

i need a noise synth. right now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 3/1/16 5:55pm Cliff:

This Fuzz Face track is good music for reading along to this: www.syracuse.com...

(For non-Syracusans, Salina St. is the major N-S road through downtown here, always has bad traffic, so a building collapsing in the middle of the winter sure didn't help things)
