Evening, Doug and all!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:59pm Doug Schulkind:

A score for the evening, not evening the score, eh Listener James?
Avatar 6:00pm ndbob:

evening Doug, James, everyone!
Avatar 6:01pm Flash Strap:

evening DOOOOOOUG
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:04pm Doug Schulkind:

Hello ndbob and you, you Strapping Gentleman!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:05pm Artie Haywire:

Sorry you're feeling poorly, Doug. I recommend the Mucinex Lemon Whiskey cocktail and a nice ten hour sleep.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:07pm Doug Schulkind:

You better have a license peddling that stuff, Doc Haywire!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:10pm Artie Haywire:

Only a License To Thrill, Mr. Schulkind. None other necessary. But for my wife's chicken soup, well that's another thing entirely.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:12pm Doug Schulkind:

Ken Filiano was playing bass on the opening number. Here is is paired with the extraordinary string-thrummer Joëlle Léandre playing beside Mr. Golia.
  6:16pm Dean:

Golia is yet another treasure who hasn't been given his due. Early on I wisely decided not to try to be a completist, but I was pleased to find a double LP from 1979 in Portland last summer at the opening of a new record store. It features Roberto Miranda and Alex Cline.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:18pm Doug Schulkind:

Alex Cline was drumming on the opening selection. Being a Golia completist would be a life's work. He is has been so astonishingly prolific. Hi Dean!
  6:20pm Dean:

Not a completist, but I do have that Clean Feed record. Also just placed orders for a couple handfuls of Clean Feed's recent sale. You'll dig the gif: https://cleanfeed-records.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/banner.gif
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:21pm Doug Schulkind:

That GIF will be making an appearance on an upcoming playlist...
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:26pm Parq:

Ah, a rare chance to catch the Tues Night show. Well, half of it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:29pm Doug Schulkind:

And that's not the half of it, Parq!
  6:30pm Dean:

I'm partial to the Halloween records he did for CIMP and Nine Winds with Paul Smoker and others, especially the original one, but that's also because CIMP records are so gloriously well engineered.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:32pm Doug Schulkind:

Nice timing, Dean. The next track is from Halloween, the Sequel.
  6:33pm Dean:

Amen to that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:34pm Doug Schulkind:

And yeah, them CIMPs are gorgeous.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:41pm Doug Schulkind:

One of the great names in music: the trumpeter on this track is Paul SMOKER.
  6:44pm Dean:

"Well, he better cut down a bit!"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:47pm Doug Schulkind:

Speaking of trumpeters, the legendary Bobby Bradford is gracing this number.
Avatar 6:55pm ndbob:

excellent show Doug!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:56pm Doug Schulkind:

And here now is Baikida Carroll on trumpet. Wow!

My pleasure, ndbob. Golia forth and conquer!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 7:00pm listener james from westwood:

Thanks for the fine Golia survey! My musical education continues as it often does on these here streamwaves.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:02pm Doug Schulkind:

Would you mind staying after and cleaning the blackboard, Listener James?
