Before I switch to mobile, my “Star Wars” comment: “White slavers…” That dude has lost his mind.

Avatar Swag For Life Member    Sun. 1/3/16 3:05am Ken From Hyde Park:

The "You Americans!" person must have been watching Fox News or CNN broadcasts.

SHe was at the annual NYC new years Poetry thingy , or whatever it's called,,,, I don't usually go in for that affect poetry "reading' voice she read that thing in but it had a good message so I let it slide.....

ONWARD COSMIC CHILDREN OF THE NIGHT!!! ARISE< ASCEND<<!!!
Avatar Sun. 1/3/16 3:28am northguineahills:

I'd let most Meredith Monk performances slide, as she has done some amazing stuff in the past.

Give te poor guy a break....
Avatar    Sun. 1/3/16 3:43am Jherweg:

Come on , we we're nice about it,,,,,, you can't just show up at a radio station in the middle of the night unannounced wearing a trench coat and a back pack and carrying a bottle of booze...
  Sun. 1/3/16 3:44am JakeGould:

@JHerweg The Saint Marks Poetry Marathon was fun when Jim Carroll and Taylor Mead were still around.
Avatar Sun. 1/3/16 3:47am northguineahills:

Spoken poetry can be done well live, but it's so exceedingly rare, I usually avoid it. Multi-media poetry works more often, and for some reason, I can digest poetry better if it's on vinyl.
Avatar Sun. 1/3/16 3:56am BEAVO:

Never heard so much Hawkwind as in the last 2 weeks on WFMU yet not one Motörhead track.
Avatar    Sun. 1/3/16 3:57am Mary Wing:

Almost 3 hours of Motorhead on Diane's show last Thursday: www.wfmu.org...
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Sun. 1/3/16 3:57am coelacanth:

hello Jonathan and all
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Sun. 1/3/16 3:59am coelacanth:

i've heard motorhead on at least 2 different shows/day since Lemmy died.
Avatar Sun. 1/3/16 4:04am BEAVO:

All due respect to Lemmy they got better after Lemmy left. Quark Strangeness and Charm. Etc
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Sun. 1/3/16 4:05am coelacanth:

well woodstock is particularly boring all the time...not a good reference point.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Sun. 1/3/16 4:11am coelacanth:

first 5 albums the best; the next 2 (post Lemmy) also good; then- eh.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Sun. 1/3/16 4:18am coelacanth:

...actually woodstock does have a good film festival every year; and some street fairs...but when that's not happening it's pretty dead.
  Sun. 1/3/16 4:28am yoryo:

Hello Jonathan and all! happy new starring wars good morning from greece
Avatar    Sun. 1/3/16 4:30am Jherweg:

Hey there!
  Sun. 1/3/16 5:07am Al Romano:

Jonathan,
As a station devotee since 1967, I like your DJ mix-a-lot!. Tech question: I am getting some "loop"effects on DJs' talk, with doubling on voices, often repeated and new comments sharing space. I'm listening on-line: Any other indicators of signal variations?
Keep up the nice ear stuff.
Al

Avatar    Sun. 1/3/16 5:09am Jherweg:

Hey Al, I have no Idea about loop effects and stuff Like that, I can barely cue up a record or hook up my stereo.
  Sun. 1/3/16 5:11am greysquad:

I'm listening online and it sounds great to me... no echo or loop effects on my side...
Swag For Life Member    Sun. 1/3/16 5:15am sibeliuss:

haha al that's just your brain hitting the subtle frequencies
Avatar    Sun. 1/3/16 5:16am Jherweg:

My brain hurts.

Good morning Jonathan and listeners
  Sun. 1/3/16 5:27am greysquad:

computer chess! great movie btw... I'm not a huge fan of bujalski but I kinda liked that movie...
Avatar    Sun. 1/3/16 5:35am fred:

That Corsano/McPhee duo is indeed well worth seeing. Corsano was surprisingly restrained when they started playing together, but by now this is a balanced collaboration
Avatar    Sun. 1/3/16 5:43am Jherweg:

Restraint is the hallmark of any great improvisational drummer I think.
Avatar    Sun. 1/3/16 5:49am fred:

Yeah, but it's not exactly Corsano's calling card, and the first time I saw them he looked just too respectful. But that was about 5 years ago, and now this duo's just great
  Sun. 1/3/16 5:54am Emile:

Great show
