+1 Jethro Tull.
  Wed. 12/2/15 4:48pm Dean:

Never, ever liked Tull until about two or three weeks ago. Then I liked them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 12/2/15 4:53pm Irwin:

Dean: Slow learner, late bloomer, or delayed adopter?
Avatar    Wed. 12/2/15 4:55pm Bronwyn Bishop:

Damn it I leave for 5 minutes and miss Jethro Tull! At least I get to hear Yo La Tengo now. They were great when they played here in Ithaca a couple years back.
Avatar    Wed. 12/2/15 4:56pm Bronwyn Bishop:

I played this on my show at school once :D
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 12/2/15 4:56pm Irwin:

IT'S TIME - for Alvin Dahn.
  Wed. 12/2/15 4:57pm Laura L:

Was just singing this Alvin Dahn over Thanksgiving, because family can do this to you, even when you like them!
  Wed. 12/2/15 4:58pm Dean:

I had a hard time getting past Jethro, I mean, Ian Anderson. The friggin' flute, the posturing, the voice made for pantomime. But then I heard an interview with him from recent years (with Rick Wakeman, I believe), and he pretty much sympathized with an opinion like mine. So, I suppose I'm a delayed adopter, but in most every other life circumstance I'm a late bloomer, so that, too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 12/2/15 5:05pm Irwin:

Dean: Where was the interview? Curious to read.

This track goes on for another 16 hours. I'll fade early.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 12/2/15 5:22pm chris:

either that, Irwin, or we're gonna need some more drinks
  Wed. 12/2/15 5:24pm Ike:

Possibly Erroneous Trivia: Keith J. may have grown up partly in the same rinky-dink small city as actors Linda Hamilton and John Glover, as well as Frank Purdue, plus yr humble commenter. Or so local lore would have one believe.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 12/2/15 5:25pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Friend: 'I don't like Jazz. If they don't know where they're going, why should I care?'
Me: 'They just aren't in a hurry.'
  Wed. 12/2/15 5:27pm jan:

Had not heard Jarret since Koln. What an engaging work.
  Wed. 12/2/15 5:29pm jan:

@Dean- Tull was one of our favorites in those early college days. Was good to hear it agin.

Irwin you just channeled the old codger whilst talking about Keith Jarrett

Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 12/2/15 5:39pm Irwin:

Whole album of Dusty covers.
  Wed. 12/2/15 5:39pm Dean:

Had a meeting, sorry. Damn, missed that Jarrett Trio which, fortunately, I have at home, anyway. It's a gem, as are most of the trio recordings. For a stretch there I was playing them nightly.

Here's the Ian Anderson interview by Wakeman: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KACYuLGK1S0 Yes, @jan, Tull were at their most influential, I guess, while I was in junior high and high school. I was hoping to find a box set reissue of the first few albums (through, say, A Passion Play), but I don't think there is one.
  Wed. 12/2/15 5:40pm Jeff g.:

I believe you.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 12/2/15 5:40pm Parq:

Yeah, just looked her up. Had that moment of "Hmm, cabaret-standard sound. Thought she was a country singer."

  Wed. 12/2/15 5:46pm Ian:

Hey Irwin, what's that sparky music you usually play behind you at the end of the show as you do your outro? (BTW, great show, as always.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 12/2/15 5:48pm Irwin:

"Batcholo Mang" by Dr. Dobrovolski, from the Complete Death of Cool
  Wed. 12/2/15 5:48pm Ian:

Thank you!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 12/2/15 5:50pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Speaking of corruption, former New York State Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver was found guilty on all counts recently. What an embarrassment.
  Wed. 12/2/15 5:51pm Dean:

This is one of those records that gets buried in the collection. I forget about it unless I'm browsing the shelf.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 12/2/15 5:52pm Irwin:

Ken: Surprised?
  Wed. 12/2/15 5:54pm Linda Lee:

hello & i'm very late! lovely music Irwin. thank you!! especial shoutout to KRYPT, hailing from a city that fascinates me endlessly. as for Sheldon Silver, any perception of corruption as anything but bipartisan .. well.
  Wed. 12/2/15 5:54pm Laura L:

Yay, a Bran Flake sandwiched show. Thanks, Irwin!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 12/2/15 5:54pm chris:

lovely shoooo, Irwin! thanks again!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 12/2/15 5:54pm Ken From Hyde Park:

@Irwin - No, not surprised at all. Just waiting now to hear how little jail time he'll receive.
  Wed. 12/2/15 5:55pm Jeff g.:

I am slightly surprised that they were able to convict Sheldon. The corruption, not so much.
