"The Final Solution" is perhaps not the best name for this group. Might work for a skinhead group, though....
  12:11pm

New Order's original keyboardist? That László?
Avatar 12:11pm

Actually, according to Troy McClure, the inventor of Panaflex.

Doug Schulkind:

Hey, cool stuff coming up later today on the Drummer Stream:

3-5pm (eastern)
On ECLECTIC MUSIC FOR MIND AND BODHI, Peter Nelson will be airing a recording of a live concert by The Dead Rat Orchestra (who play a mixture of harmonium, mandolin, thumb piano, bells and laptop) from 28 October on their UK tour opening for Godspeed You! Black Emperor at the Brighton Dome.

6-7pm (eastern)
On GIVE THE DRUMMER SOME, I will celebrate Ennio Morricone's 86 birthday with an hour of choice and favorite selections.

7-10pm (eastern)
On KAMINSKY KAMOUTSKY, Jesse Kaminsky will be pulling out of the ol' record satchel three hours of devastatingly marvelous sonic delights. Just like he always does.

You won't want to miss a minute so take your bathroom breaks wisely.

Kristin Hersh was playing live at the station (in East Orange!) when I first visited WFMU to volunteer. IIRC it was Andy W's show.
Avatar 1:08pm
Tony Coulter:

She played Portland not too long ago, at a really nice space too (the Old Church). Unfortunately, I missed it.
  1:09pm
Dean:

The Old Church is the site of a super Steve Lacy Trio recording, "The Rent."
Avatar 1:10pm
Tony Coulter:

The acoustics there are really fab -- plus it's just a nice space to be in.
  1:11pm
βrian:

Any rhinos yet?
  1:11pm

The acoustics are definitely a feature of the Lacy recording.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12pm

That Lacy album is impressive, Dean.

Hello Tony, in lieu of nothing there was a character called László László who was a pianist once in a Top Cat cartoon.
Now where did that come from?

Bring it down to earth. Rhinoceros were an Elektra studio band.
Avatar 1:35pm
