Apparently the correct spelling is Scopitone.

I think they might have been saying "Scopitone," which was an early form of music videos. There were jukeboxes in the 1960s that had the capability of projecting short 16mm films. That's what Scopitones were. FMU had an event a few months ago where they showed a bunch of Scopitone films. There's a bunch that have been uploaded to YouTube if you want to see what they were like.

I know. Soundies I knew about, but not that particular technology. I used to play at least one coin-op amusement game that might be considered a forerunner of video games that was based on a film loop.
