Strange but true -- my FMU contribution comes out of my share of the tip jar at work. Thank you, coffee drinkers and pastry eaters!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:01am

Huh. Assuming the Frank Lloyd Wright Quartet would be a little more orderly... :)

When I was still a dishwasher, 30+ years ago, I would grab a glazed cinnamon roll on Friday, put it in a Styrofoam container, and open it up on Saturday morning, to great delight. With a college radio station playing.

Morning, maja

Mark R.:

Simon, Frank Wright made at least one very remarkable album for the ESP-Disk label, with a trio. The ESP catalog blurb says that Wright played with John Coltrane, but I haven't seen his name on any Coltrane recordings. Maybe they just jammed together and it was never recorded. I'd imagine those sessions might sound something like the recordings Trane made with Pharaoh Sanders.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:40am
pacific standard simon:

The stickers are very nice, too.
  4:44am
Mark R.:

Simon, I was filling in late Friday/early Saturday and you were conspicuously absent from the comment board. My co-host and I were concerned. Good to see you haven't met with foul play!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:47am
pacific standard simon:

I wonder what sort of boogie-woogie Piet Mondrian might have made with Frank Lloyd Wright. Piano and drums?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:52am
pacific standard simon:

@Mark R. - That's a natural time slot for me, but I needed a cool-down period after work with some old Adam-12 episodes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:03am

I know that requests are chuckled at, but some some Sandy Bull would be interesting here.

Good morning Jeff and everyone. This is my favourite Van Morrison album after "Astral Weeks". Never understood why it's so overlooked.

Thanks, Jeff!
As someone who can only ever catch the final hour, it'd be great if you could drop some of your heavy-psych selections towards the end of your show. I love all the mellow folkiness too, but kind of feel I'm missing out...
Avatar 5:59am
Jeff Conklin:

There's always the archives, Canterbury ;)
