Hey Ike , thanks for the soundcloud link last night , got me all nostalgic for when I lived in Moss side , there was local pirate stations that blew MSM to smithereenage.

Sure @Spidermank, and if you didn't notice, there are parts 2-4 as well. Part 1 only covered 88.1-91.9 on the FM dial. However a lot of them interfere with WFMU and other good non-commercial stations around here, so I'm not too keen on many of them myself, but it's interesting to listen to the airchecks.

Avatar Swag For Life Member Thu. 10/1/15 4:10pm Rich in Washington:

I just recently rewatched Phase IV and it does have some unique, iconic imagery in it. It's kind of a shame he didn't do more films.
  Thu. 10/1/15 4:12pm Clay:

How weird. I asked to screen Phase IV some months back for movie night.... shunned.

Avatar Swag For Life Member Thu. 10/1/15 4:17pm Rich in Washington:

I had to check to see if I'm still streaming WFMU. It sounded like my computer was complaining about my music library.

she was already a big star before that film came out. over here in the UK anyway.
Avatar Thu. 10/1/15 4:54pm Fabio:

At the time the film was being made her first album was just out and she was getting attention yes, but she wasn't as huge as she would get just a year or two later. This was very early in her career, and yes, I was off about the date. Kill me! Listen Monk, you better watch yourself man, Brighton isn't so far away man!

mike watt singing "Burning Up" (demo version) on Ciccone Youth LP is the best madonna song ever.
  Thu. 10/1/15 5:05pm Linda Lee:

i'd always rather see Smithereens than DSS. they look the same, don't they. i have no use at all for Madonna either then or now. maybe because we're the same age.
Avatar Thu. 10/1/15 5:06pm Fabio:

The "Sex" album man -- that was a concept album masterpiece! she went downhill after that!
  Thu. 10/1/15 5:07pm Linda Lee:

Back in the late 90s me and a few friends thought how the 80s had a lot of crummy music and fashion, and I think that is true. Pseu talks a lot about "nostalgia"
  Thu. 10/1/15 5:23pm gd:

I meant to write "late 80s"!

  Thu. 10/1/15 5:32pm Linda Lee:

when i think of the late 80s musically, i'm actually thinking 'spoken word' .. fashion, can't recall anything but resurgent black leather .. first waves of punk 'nostalgia' ..
  Thu. 10/1/15 5:35pm Linda Lee:
