"I listened yesterday. It's no reflection on you but I could'nt see where you were going or what you were going for. This early seventies thing did'nt get noticed the first time and you talk about friends of like Dealney and Bonnie who had records out like we're supposed to remember who they are. Then you play this long winded free jazz stuff that really grates on my nerves. And that noise without a beat and sounds like someones being pinched. Then you play a reggae song, I think you called it Dub, to what, be cool? You seem to really fetishize the whole folk thing too which is obnoxious to us who don't even care. I liked it when you played that punk song though. I like Joe Belock a lot." (Visit homepage.)

...okay - Sunday Painters are getting real interesting; someone else played one put me in mind of Bauhaus w/ Birthday Party touches - & this one is like Bauhaus if produced by Eddie Ka-Spel...
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 9/2/15 8:29am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...& a websearch gives no obvious wiki - & makes me think there's more than one band by the name?...
Avatar Wed. 9/2/15 8:29am Cheri Pi:

Sunday Painters is a collective, me thinks. G'mornings!
Avatar Wed. 9/2/15 8:32am John Allen:

thanks Michael Train for another amazing installment for this band that got into no one's hands in the US (maybe Chuck Warner's) - noisey.vice.com...

Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 9/2/15 8:39am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Avatar Wed. 9/2/15 8:51am John Allen:

VP, that version of Hang On was by Charles de Goal

Have a good week, John. Enjoyed the show.
  Wed. 9/2/15 10:14am Michael:

Hey John, thanks for the shout-out, but even more for playing the Painters. Sometimes some confusion since there's a later (and duller) band from Detroit of the same name. These Sunday Painters operated out of Wollongong, Australia from 1979-90.
