Indeed. God, the 'tron sounds freakin' wonderful.
Avatar Wed. 7/15/15 12:22am Bill Mac:

Definitely something I had a difficult time wrapping my head around at the time. I remember reading a review of the first Bad Co album - the reviewer said that the record sound a little bit like Mott the Hoople, a bit like Free, and a bit like Crimson in btween the songs.... is this thing on?
Avatar Wed. 7/15/15 12:22am Bill Mac:

Morning Guido!

sun is up since long
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 7/15/15 12:48am JakeGould:

I hope it doesn’t rain on you, but I want more rain. Cool this city down a bit.
Avatar Wed. 7/15/15 12:50am Bill Mac:

@JG Know what you mean... we were hit hard today in Freehold NJ yesterday afternoon, but it didn't really help.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 12:50am Guido from Cologne:

After a decent heat-wave we had a week of surprisingly chilly days.
We had to wear jackets.
It's a weather rundabout.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 7/15/15 12:51am JakeGould:

@Bill: Yeah, I saw that rain in Brooklyn myself. Lots of rain but no cool. Damned low pressure system fail.
Avatar Wed. 7/15/15 12:51am Jay/London:

looks like you will have a thunder storm soon bill
Avatar Wed. 7/15/15 12:52am Bill Mac:

@Guido - it hasn't gotten that cool here... expecting hot stuff next week...
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 7/15/15 12:56am JakeGould:

@Guido: The thing about NYC/NJ at this time of year is the humidity is nuts. There were a few days in the 80F degree range last week that were great because they weren’t humid. But even a 75F degree day with humidity is miserable here.
Avatar Wed. 7/15/15 12:58am Jay/London:

i just love just about everything ennio has done
Avatar Wed. 7/15/15 12:59am Jay/London:

@ jake gould do you remember "some like it hot"
Avatar Wed. 7/15/15 12:59am Bill Mac:

I'll bet that what we have in the library wouldn't make a dent in his entire catalog
Avatar Wed. 7/15/15 1:00am Jay/London:

@ bill I have a lot of his stuff but not all
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 7/15/15 1:01am JakeGould:

This isn’t hot. This is damp heat.
Avatar Wed. 7/15/15 1:03am Jay/London:

i meant the film Jake
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 7/15/15 1:04am Ike:

Doesn't Ken joke about needing a whole trailer for all the Ennio M. records? It's right next to the Jandek trailer and the Sun Ra trailer.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 7/15/15 1:10am JakeGould:

I saw “Some Like it Hot” but don’t remember squat about it past the basic drag-queen premise.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 1:12am Jeff:

It's Bill Mac! Hooray!

Earlier today, the Knuckles painting was being packed up to go to its new home; tonight Bill is on the air. I have no idea what it means, but it means SOMETHING.
Avatar Wed. 7/15/15 1:13am Bill Mac:

Jack Lemon and Tony Curtis both pursue Marilyn Monroe. Tony Curtis woos her by pretending to be a rich yacht owner and aping a really bad Cary Grant impression. Good movie...
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 1:14am Jeff:

And there's a train and musical instruments.
Avatar Wed. 7/15/15 1:15am Bill Mac:

@Jeff - So it's finally going to its new owner... I saw it on Sunday and thought it was staying... oh well, we got a lot of mileage out of that didn't we? Knuckles will live in the hearts of listeners... and in my avatar...
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 7/15/15 1:16am JakeGould:

Yeah, but all of those pieces of the film didn’t add up for me. I hated the film. So anyway, Jay/London what”s your point?
Avatar Wed. 7/15/15 1:23am Bill Mac:

Pieces? What do you want them to add up to?
Avatar Wed. 7/15/15 1:29am Jay/London:

as it's a hot night and not much sleep i watched it again
i think it's a classic
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 1:31am Guido from Cologne:

M.E.S. on that?
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 1:31am pacific standard simon:

We all have our classics that nobody treats with the reverence that we think they deserve. It's OK.
Avatar Wed. 7/15/15 1:32am Bill Mac:

@Guido What what? MES?
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 1:33am Guido from Cologne:

Mark E. Smith
Avatar Wed. 7/15/15 1:34am Jay/London:

then of course there is "the seven year itch " which is set in N.Y.
when it is very hot .. like now
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 1:36am pacific standard simon:

Jay, you should watch that Twilight Zone episode where the sun is expanding and it keeps getting hotter and hotter.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 1:37am Guido from Cologne:

antipode to Europe
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 1:38am Brian in UK:

Hey Bill, your No.1 schmuck calling in!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 1:39am Guido from Cologne:

It is common metaphor in UK I guess.
"the antipodes"
(opposite sifde of the earth)
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 1:39am pacific standard simon:

Yeah, just means 'on the opposite side of the Earth from civilization'. ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 1:39am Brian in UK:

Greek fpr opposite, so opposite side of world to UK.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 1:41am pacific standard simon:

From Latin, from Ancient Greek ἀντίποδες (antípodes), from ἀντί (antí, “opposite”) + πόδες (pódes), plural of πούς (poús, “foot”). From Wiktionary.
Avatar Wed. 7/15/15 1:41am Bill Mac:

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Hey Brian!
Avatar Wed. 7/15/15 1:41am Jay/London:

hi brian where you been ?
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 1:41am pacific standard simon:

In other words, the "other foot".

Time is tight right now, got to get the 'bike gear on and head to work.

Bill, England are playing Australia at cricket for the Ashes a five Test series right now, to most Aussies a matter more important than life itself.

Brian's birthday? St. Swithin's Day? Mine was yesterday, Eastern Time. Happy birthday!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 1:51am Brian in UK:

Bill, Stanley is quoting Prof. Stanley Unwin. You should try him out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 1:52am pacific standard simon:

The 15th is also Roky Erickson's and Linda Ronstadt's.

Stanley. It is with a light heartload that I thank you.

Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 1:55am pacific standard simon:

I am with Guido got to reluctantly cut and run.
Archives for me dear boy.
Hope you had a good day PSS.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 7/15/15 1:57am JakeGould:

@BillMac: “Pieces? What do you want them to add up to?” I don’t think they add up to a good movie. I never liked it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 1:57am Brian in UK:

Macula is a wasting eye disease for your info, Bill.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 1:57am Stanley:

Have a good day Brian and catch ya later.

Thanks for coming by guys, you make the time go by with purpose!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 1:58am pacific standard simon:

So Count Macula is a blind vampire?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 7/15/15 1:58am JakeGould:

@PSS: “We all have our classics that nobody treats with the reverence that we think they deserve. It's OK.” Exactly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 1:59am pacific standard simon:

Thanks Brian.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 2:00am Stanley:

Ah Ivor Cutler. Scotland's cultural ambassador to the world.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 2:02am pacific standard simon:

I'm not sure the world will ever fully appreciate the genius of Ivor Cutler.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 2:02am Ken From Hyde Park:

Toss a brick for the Marquis de Sade!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 2:11am pacific standard simon:

@Jake - For instance, I think The Maltese Falcon is the greatest movie ever. Better than Citizen Kane, or what-have-you. I don't hold my breath waiting for people to agree with me.
Avatar Wed. 7/15/15 2:12am Jay/London:

they are both great films one's I can watch again and again
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 2:14am pacific standard simon:

Also, Abbott And Costello Meet Frankenstein is freaking awesome.
Avatar Wed. 7/15/15 2:21am Bill Mac:

I likes em all so far
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 2:24am Stanley:

Young Frankenstein, I love.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 2:26am pacific standard simon:

Stanley, that's another of my favorite comedies.
Avatar Wed. 7/15/15 2:28am Bill Mac:

I do like Young Frankenstein, but to put Mel Brooks at the same level of comic genius as Monty Python is crazy, don't you think? THOSE movies were a revelation to me when I first saw them. Those guys were out of there minds.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 7/15/15 2:28am JakeGould:

I think “Bride of Frankenstein” is great and ditto with Scorsese’s “After Hours”. Personal taste. That’s it. And no, I will not see “Mad Max: Fury Road.” Thanks.
Avatar Wed. 7/15/15 2:29am Bill Mac:

@JG Izzat the new MM movie?
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 2:30am pacific standard simon:

Try singing the lyrics to Neil Young's "Helpless" to the music of "Pie".
Avatar Wed. 7/15/15 2:31am Bill Mac:

@PSS ... or Knockin on Heavens Door for that matter
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 2:32am pacific standard simon:

Bill, Young Frankenstein and Monty Python And The Holy Grail pretty much defines my idea of a perfect double-bill.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 2:33am Stanley:

Marx brothers, Laurel and Hardy, Police Squad, I'm a sucker for a bit of cornball. On the question of Monty Python, I did think they tried too hard sometimes. And another thing, it wasn't difficult to be 'wacky' in those days.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 2:33am pacific standard simon:

OF COURSE!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 2:35am Stanley:

Don't get me wrong, I likes MP. Life of Brian is, for me, one of the funniest films ever.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 2:39am pacific standard simon:

Excuse me, I had to go clean up the cat barf before the dog could eat it.
Avatar Wed. 7/15/15 2:41am Bill Mac:

Hah! Last week we were talking about breakfast!
Avatar Wed. 7/15/15 2:42am Bill Mac:

@Stanley - Right on that!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 2:44am Stanley:

PSS - I bet the cat does that deliberately.
Avatar Wed. 7/15/15 2:45am Jay/London:

well i got go to work ... great show bill put me in a good mood
:)
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 2:46am pacific standard simon:

Bill, I tuned in to your regular show last week because my work schedule changed, and that's what was available. But I have to say that I liked it enough to want to hear your fill-in show this week. And your regular show.
Avatar Wed. 7/15/15 2:46am Bill Mac:

Great Jay, see you in the near future hopefully.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 2:47am pacific standard simon:

@Stanley - Yes, the cat does taunt the dog.
Avatar Wed. 7/15/15 2:48am Bill Mac:

@PSS - Thing is that I'm not on the schedule at the moment. I have three more fillins happening thru til 8/11. may be back on the sched in the fall
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 2:51am pacific standard simon:

Oh shoot. That wasn't your regular spot? Damn. Well, I'll keep my eyes open for you in the listings.
  Wed. 7/15/15 2:52am JakeGould:

And yeah. That is the new Mad Max film.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 2:53am Stanley:

Don't know what to make of this track.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 7/15/15 2:54am pacific standard simon:

Jake, are you in the Hawaii time zone? You seem ... delayed.
Avatar Wed. 7/15/15 2:54am Bill Mac:

@Stanley I'm not sure either. Maybe not the best of closers, but I'm committed to it now....
Avatar Wed. 7/15/15 2:56am Bill Mac:

Boo, another show closer to death! Hope it was adequate, thanks for keeping me awake. If you want to bother, I'll be back again Monday, July 20th, Midnight - 3am: I'll be filling in for Therese. See you around otherwise!
