Oh Mr Giant Man, where are you now?
  Thu. 7/2/15 3:07pm P-90:

Ciao, Fabio! And greetings to all the giant ladies and gentlemen in attendance.
  Thu. 7/2/15 3:13pm Jack:

Y'know Fabio I used to like it when the comments and playlist didn't come up right away at the start of the show, sometimes for almost half an hour! miss those days...

I'll be within stalking range of Herr Rundgren next week. He's supposedly running quite the tiki bar on Kauai these days.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Thu. 7/2/15 3:37pm Carmichael:

Yes he is indeedy, Rev. Lemme know if you corner him in the lounge and quiz him.
Avatar Thu. 7/2/15 3:38pm Hugh C:

Ah, Fabio! Good afternoon,
For the first time in my life, I'm living out of range of the 91.1 signal, finally set up with my new Bose Soundwave, now I can really drive my wife crazy!
  Thu. 7/2/15 3:39pm P-90:

@Rev. T. Druid: No shit? What's it called?
Avatar 🎃 Thu. 7/2/15 3:41pm Chris from DC:

I need to come up with a Stiff Wizard cocktail.
Avatar 🎃 Thu. 7/2/15 3:41pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

@P-90: Tiki Iniki, north side of the island. I've never been out there. Mrs.Druid having a "big" birthday next week... hence, a chance to corner Todd & hassle him about that XTC record...

This would be good crowd music for Scott Walker campaign rallies.

@ Rev: yes, if at all possible, please bring back some Andy Partridge nuggets - that's one power struggle I would have killed to witness - ha!

In Bushwick the firecrackers go all night!
Avatar Thu. 7/2/15 4:23pm northguineahills:

Oh, we used blow up matchbox cars.

Actually, in some neighborhoods in Brooklyn, they still close off the block for total annihilation.
Avatar 🎃 Thu. 7/2/15 4:24pm duke:

  Thu. 7/2/15 4:27pm Listener Robert:

Once you get into constructing your own, it takes something away from the enjoyment of commercial product.
  Thu. 7/2/15 4:28pm steve:

I think it's getting tamer as years go by but there's still lawlessness and explosions all night on the 4th in the far-from-the-subway part of greenpoint, though it all seems to be reasonably safe storebought fireworks
Avatar Thu. 7/2/15 4:29pm johnforz:

sadly Anna, the firecrackers in modern Bushwick don't compare to the 80's in brooklyn. it was like a warzone.. and they were never called "firecrackers"
Avatar Thu. 7/2/15 4:31pm northguineahills:

I was at a friends' in Red Hook on fourth, and we were afraid if the windows weren't open, they'd shatter. People parked vans at various intersections to close them off, and the cops didn't lift an eyebrow. Chilling on the roof watching it was so much fun.
Avatar Thu. 7/2/15 4:33pm johnforz:

i'm from the red hook area, maybe that's where I'll hang tomorrow night. lou valentino pier is my favorite park in the city
Avatar 🎃 Thu. 7/2/15 4:34pm Chris from DC:

I remember one year there was a bottle rocket war in New Brunswick, but it has gotten a lot tamer.
Avatar Thu. 7/2/15 4:35pm johnforz:

  Thu. 7/2/15 4:36pm V Priceless:

Ha...bottle rocket war! Love it!
Avatar Thu. 7/2/15 4:43pm northguineahills:

Ever have a roman candle war w/ trash can lid shields. I did one when I was twelve a dinner party, but, man, my friend's parents were pissed when they saw the holes in the laundry hanging out to dry.
Avatar Thu. 7/2/15 4:45pm northguineahills:

hey- completely off topic- does anyone know a record with the cover is a drawing of to guys in suits in a field... but their heads are hands? and they are shaking hands... artists (band's) name is like... lars something.

sorry if that was totally useless. hi everybody!
  Thu. 7/2/15 5:04pm ?:

Fabio, Your bed music... Is it Rodion G. A? It sounds so familiar.
Avatar Thu. 7/2/15 5:11pm stingy d:

last clue- it's early 70's i think and i don't think it came out on blue thumb. so now that you know exactly what i'm talking about- lay it on me, baby.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 🎃 Thu. 7/2/15 5:11pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I regret blowing up ant piles as a kid. Those ants weren't bothering anyone.
Avatar Thu. 7/2/15 5:12pm Cecile:

wow, some great 80s movies.
Avatar Thu. 7/2/15 5:13pm northguineahills:

I used to pour gasoline down fire ant hives. I don't regret it, they always bit the hell out of me and are an invasive species. I got severely hurt when I was four when I fell through a fire ant hive on a creek bank. Not fun.

Avatar Thu. 7/2/15 5:34pm ironybread:

Speaking of blowing up jellyfish, that reminds me: I bought "Popular Electronics: Early Dutch Electronic Music From Philips Research Laboratories (1956 - 1963)", which this music reminds me of. Loved it. I either have Fabio or Irwin to thank for turning me on to it. I can't remember who played it. Anyway, thanks Fab!
