Hallo, Heino! Ewige Blumenstrauß!
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 7:00pm Gary:

Howdy, James -- I have to restart my computer -- hold on just a sec!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 6/3/15 7:01pm Polyus:

Evening, Gary.
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 7:01pm listener james from westwood:

I have faith in your Fonzie-like repair powers.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 6/3/15 7:03pm Polyus:

The Rolling Stones are playing about a mile down the street from my house tonight. I'll probably be able to listen from the backyard. People already parking on my street, oh boy.
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 7:03pm listener james from westwood:

I can hear you!
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 7:03pm listener james from westwood:

::harp glissando into our bodega::
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 7:04pm Rich in Washington:

10-4, Gary
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 7:04pm listener james from westwood:

That is a glissando, right? My musical training is, as they say, scheiss. Glissando Calrissian I ain't.
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 7:04pm Gary:

Awrighty -- looks like we're good to go!
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 7:08pm Gary:

Howdy, Rich, Polyus & James -- and sorry for that late start!
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 7:08pm Gary:

... also for the sound quality of this first track ... crappy, but it's a rarity, so ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 6/3/15 7:09pm dave:

Hey, Gary - welcoming first song!
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 7:09pm Gary:

Well, hey there, Dave!
  Wed. 6/3/15 7:12pm doca:

Hallo, @Gary! In a Deutsche mood today?
  Wed. 6/3/15 7:14pm Lucky:

Hey, Gary - greetings from Deutschland! :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 6/3/15 7:14pm dave:

Panta Rhei - der Losverkäufer is definitely GDR.
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 7:15pm Gary:

Howdy Doca and hey, thrilled to see someone from die Bundesrepublik, Lucky!
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 7:15pm Gary:

Thanks, Dave -- I'll delete the question mark when I get a moment :)
  Wed. 6/3/15 7:17pm Lucky:

Well - Grauzone is a slight faux-pas, they're from Switzerland, but they sing German nonetheless, and Eisbär sure is a major contribution to NDW :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 6/3/15 7:18pm dave:

No problem, Gary!
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 7:18pm Gary:

Yeah, I couldn't resist, Lucky -- it was a huge hit in both Germany and Austria
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 6/3/15 7:19pm dave:

Well the question is "How German is it?"
  Wed. 6/3/15 7:19pm doca:

you should play Falco, it falls on those same criteria
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 7:19pm Gary:

Also, it's so, so, so good ... that said, you'll be happy to note that I'm sparing you any Swiss rap tonight :)
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 7:20pm Gary:

You're right, Doca -- I mean, the whole point of the show is in that question: "How German Is It?" :) ... however, I don't have any Falco on my computer ... maybe I can DL some in time ...
  Wed. 6/3/15 7:20pm Lucky:

Yeah, and your motto is - "How German is it?" So you left open a back door.

And here comes another NDW classic - I once had the LP from Andreas Dorau! Right now Dorau is on tour with Sven Regener of Element of Crime... what a silly song "Fred vom Jupiter is".. haha
  Wed. 6/3/15 7:21pm Dean:

DAF before voice changes?
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 7:21pm Gary:

I love it, Lucky -- and it's very new to me (just heard for first time last week)
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 7:21pm Gary:

Howdy Dean!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 6/3/15 7:22pm dave:

Interesting, Lucky. They were just here in Leipzig last week.
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 7:22pm Gary:

This next one isn't from one of their legendary albums, but *damn* it's good
  Wed. 6/3/15 7:25pm Lucky:

dave - greetings to Leipzig from Hamburg (and from Lucky Locus) :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 6/3/15 7:26pm dave:

Nice - I was just in HH for a great weekend about a month ago...
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 7:27pm Rich in Washington:

malcolm Mooney?
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 7:28pm Rich in Washington:

isn't he - or is it Damo - who's now a Jehovah's Witness?
  Wed. 6/3/15 7:28pm Lucky:

dave - well, I've never been to Leipzig, yet, have to change that during my lifetime, I guess, breaking the East/West-barrier...
  Wed. 6/3/15 7:30pm Lucky:

Gary - the album's name of Andreas Dorau was "Blumen and Narzissen" ("Flowers and Daffodils), which is silly but hilariously funny at the same time... like Dorau!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 6/3/15 7:31pm dave:

Lucky, come on over, Leipzig is a great place to start!
  Wed. 6/3/15 7:32pm Lucky:

dave - to start what? A riot??! Bashing Pegida?? HAhaha.
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 7:33pm Gary:

The Can singer was Malcom Mooney
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 7:34pm Gary:

Oh! Thanks for the correction, Lucky!
  Wed. 6/3/15 7:34pm Lucky:

Germans are known to be wise asses... :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 6/3/15 7:36pm dave:

Sure, Lucky, that's just a small subset of the many options...
  Wed. 6/3/15 7:38pm Lucky:

That Ann Christy track is wonderfully trashy - and from Belgium.

It's rather late, and since we have a kindergarten strike here in Germany, I rather have to go to bed to cope with my daughter in the morning... Maybe a few bars more...
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 7:39pm Gary:

See, I told you, Lucky ... :)
  Wed. 6/3/15 7:43pm Lucky:

Christian Rösinger - new name to me, sounds very nice, and great lyrics, very cynical, like much in Berlin! I never will forget that absolutely unfriendly music shop owner I met there... he almost threw me out because I haven't found anything I wanted to buy... what a jerk! g'nite...
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 7:44pm Gary:

Night, Lucky -- and good luck with the kindergarten mess!
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 7:46pm Gary:

Anyone know this band Frumpy?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 6/3/15 7:57pm dave:

No, but this is great, Gary!
Avatar    Wed. 6/3/15 8:02pm hyde:

ach du lieber, i missed kraftwerk
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 8:03pm Gary:

But you're here in time for so, so much more, Hyde!
  Wed. 6/3/15 8:09pm SeanG:

viva alemania! Hola Gary!
Avatar    Wed. 6/3/15 8:10pm hyde:

it's so true. and, i didn't miss the Amon Düül!
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 8:10pm Gary:

Hey there, Sean!
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 8:11pm Gary:

I promised 1 krautrock track per set when I started out tonight ... and I am pretty almost positively sure I can honor that promise :)
Avatar    Wed. 6/3/15 8:14pm hyde:

cool. now i can just bide my time until the Popul Vuh!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 6/3/15 8:15pm dave:

One of my wife's favorite singers (Barbara Thalheim).
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 6/3/15 8:17pm dave:

Barbara Thalheim would be East Germany, by the way.
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 8:18pm Gary:

Oh, thanks, Dave -- I had her as that, but then second-guessed myself!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 6/3/15 8:19pm dave:

We've got the Amiga albums to prove it!
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 8:27pm Tusalava:

Ooh, I love Popol Vuh. And all the other Krautrock.
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 8:28pm Gary:

I saw a lot of references to Amiga while putting together tonight's show!
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 8:28pm Gary:

Tusalava!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 6/3/15 8:30pm dave:

Yeah, Amiga was pretty much the label for all popular music in the GDR.
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 8:32pm Tusalava:

Hi Gary!

One of my friends posted an old gif he made of that Heino cover
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 8:32pm Tusalava:

  Wed. 6/3/15 8:32pm doca:

Is Ostalgie still a thing? You should do a DDR-themed show, Gary
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 8:34pm Gary:

I could totally do a DDR-themed show, Doca ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 6/3/15 8:34pm dave:

Sure, Ostalgie is definitely around, doca.
Avatar Wed. 6/3/15 8:34pm Gary:

@Tusalava LOL, that's sick. But great.
  Wed. 6/3/15 8:35pm doca:

That's a great record
Avatar    Wed. 6/3/15 8:58pm quinn:

LOOOOONG ASH RA
  Wed. 6/3/15 8:58pm doca:
