Hey folks if you're Rec Fair bound from midtown Manhtn, take the 7 or E or F* to Court Square in Queens and transfer to a Brooklyn-bound G train. Then it's just 2 stops! (F is helpfully re-routed all weekend via Court Sq.! Yay!)
