A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Loretta Lynn carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

@RevRab: out and about since last comment. Sure, Buddhist meditator, but Ganesha and Kali both there as well. Tibetan Buddhism incorporates animist elements, and, well, Hinduism has been around for ~4,000 years, so good chance some influence there, as well. Might just be pastiche, you know?

Yeah, different teas have different recommended brew temperatures. Most (but not all) black teas should be brewed with water right off the boil; green teas often want slightly less-hot water.

Crap, I'm reading about 10 books at once. Just revisited I Will Destroy All Civilized Planets--great and weird comics. Fletcher Hanks was a drunken, abusive, asshole though.
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 11:15am JakeGould:

Green teas do need warm-to-hot water. I agree. But a thermometer to determine that? Nonsense.

i'm reading "player piano". once i'd read all the Vonnegut books that were readily available for free,i wanted to start from his first and go in chronological order. about 1/2 through,it's so far disappointing.
i don't think he'd hit his stride yet.

On the coffee front the Seinfeld series "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee" where Patton Oswalt takes Jerry to a hipster LA café is pretty funny. He couldn't find sweetener and there was a hipster timer to count how long service took.

@Jennique I worked with someone who was a huge Cure fan and met Smith backstage at some festival. Smith was in full 'Robert Smith' regalia; big hair, slash of lipstick, baggy black clothes, and my colleague was so starstruck the only thing he could find to say was: "Are you Robert Smith?"!!

Ah, it was COLD milk in hot drinks the coffee place refused to serve, my mistake. barn.bigcartel.com... It was a pretty friendly place, mind; it just took coffee VERY seriously.

@Polyus, I got outvoted years ago on listening to FMU in my workplace. From then on it was local Top 40 radio and the same fucking Ace of Base tune 6 times in 8 hours. Headphones at subsequent workplaces, and freelancing from home now, have kept me out of jail.
