Greetings, wontons!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/28/15 11:58am listener james from westwood:

How do, Tony and all! Put me down for wonton soup and a brace of eggrolls.
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 12:00pm Doug Schulkind:

Well hello, Tony!
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 12:01pm Tony Coulter:

Heya Listener James and Doug Doug!
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 12:02pm V Priceless:

Hey there, Tony!
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 12:02pm Tony Coulter:

Someone should gather every mention of food in the listener comments, going years back. Then (FMU's) Kenny G should collect them in a book, and read the book out loud at the White House.
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 12:03pm Tony Coulter:

Hola, V Priceless!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/28/15 12:07pm Carmichael:

Great, now I'm hungry. Hi Tony and pork bao lovers everywhere.
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 12:08pm Tony Coulter:

FMU's Clay Caplice (of The Pounding System fame) has a release on the same label this Paul Healy is on. It's a duo with the great Rik Rue.
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 12:08pm Tony Coulter:

Greets, Carmichael!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/28/15 12:08pm listener james from westwood:

Funny you mention Clay, I was listening to an archive of his early-early this a.m. (1/27/04!). Love that show.
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 12:09pm Tony Coulter:

This Paul Healy cassette isn't on Discogs -- which means it doesn't exist.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/28/15 12:14pm Carmichael:

But I did find plenty on Rik Rue, who I think is a compatriot.
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 12:17pm Tony Coulter:

He is. Rik Rue founded the Pedestrian Tapes label, btw.
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 12:19pm Tony Coulter:

Rik Rue is in the excellent Mind/Body/Split -- who I think I played on my very first FMU show, if memory serves.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/28/15 12:20pm northguineahills:

Back from a much needed holiday. My brother took me to his wedding in Mexico and then let me chill at his pad in Orlando for three weeks. I feel much, much better.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/28/15 12:21pm JtotheK:

hi everybody!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/28/15 12:21pm Carmichael:

ngh, international jetsetter!
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 12:21pm Tony Coulter:

Welcome back, NGH!! Time to take off that sombrero.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/28/15 12:22pm listener james from westwood:

ngh, sounds extremely restorative, especially after the hectic months you had this year.
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 12:22pm Tony Coulter:

Greetings, JtotheK!!
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 12:23pm Tony Coulter:

I will be really impressed if anyone can recognize the LP underneath today's cassettes. Thing is, it's upside down.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/28/15 12:24pm northguineahills:

Yeah, I feel like I can focus again, and not be overwhelmed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/28/15 12:24pm listener james from westwood:

That feeling of the weight being off the chest and finally filling one's lungs completely. Good on ya.
  Tue. 4/28/15 12:25pm Dean:

That's a 12x12 LP gatefold cover, opened, upside down? Those cassettes are huge!
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 12:26pm Tony Coulter:

Ha! OK, OK -- it's just the top of the LP.

(Heya, Dean!)
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 12:27pm Doug Schulkind:

Liking liking liking!
  Tue. 4/28/15 12:28pm Dean:

Can we play 20 Questions? Okay, I'll start. Is the LP from a US band/musician?
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 12:28pm Tony Coulter:

The upside-down partial LP is this: www.discogs.com...
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 12:29pm Tony Coulter:

Paul Healy is best known as one-half of Somatic Responses, who I have not heard. Anyone know 'em? www.discogs.com...
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 12:31pm Tony Coulter:

@ Dean: Gave the answer away before I knew we were playing. Of course, you can not look at the link and try to figure it out anyway. Yes, a US band.
  Tue. 4/28/15 12:32pm Dean:

Well, well. It's a Posh Boy record! When I was working a record store in LA County, Robbie Fields brought his fledgling F-Word to the store. Here's Rik L Rik at the store: http://poshboy.com/Graphics/01rik.jpg Flanking him, X-8 or Flipside and Jayme, a high school friend and band mate of mine.
  Tue. 4/28/15 12:32pm Dean:

*of Flipside
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 12:37pm Tony Coulter:

Slip me a fiver, and I'll fix the typo right in your preceding comment.
  Tue. 4/28/15 12:40pm Dean:

Got the five, folded up. Putting it in the DVD-RW drive. Should arrive shortly.
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 12:46pm Tony Coulter:

Despite the fact that the cover reads "Film Musik," the title of this Nubla cassette is "Filmusik" (one 'm') -- I swear it!
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 12:54pm Tony Coulter:

As I mentioned, Nubla is in Macromassa (www.discogs.com... ) and Naif (www.discogs.com... ), two of the very best Spanish experimental / whatever groups.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/28/15 12:54pm Mike East:

If you play the main stream and GTDS at the same time right now, it sounds pretty great
  Tue. 4/28/15 12:56pm Dean:

The Nubla cover has a not-so-hidden tribute to FMU.
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 1:01pm Tony Coulter:

Heya, Mike East!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/28/15 1:02pm Mike East:

Ahoy, Tony Coulter!
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 1:03pm Tony Coulter:

@ Dean: Sik!
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 1:33pm βrian:

I can't decide: ambient or ambivalent?
  Tue. 4/28/15 1:35pm Dean:

Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 1:37pm βrian:

Thilly Castillians!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/28/15 1:38pm northguineahills:

Victor Nubla sounds very familiar.
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 1:40pm Tony Coulter:

Hey ho, Brian!!
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 1:40pm Doug Schulkind:

For the love of Pete this is a great show today, Tony!
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 1:41pm Tony Coulter:

@ NGH: I've been playing this tape in your room while you're asleep.
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 1:42pm βrian:

Wow. Victor Nubla anagrams interestingly:
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 1:43pm Tony Coulter:

@ Doug: Thanks, D! I do it all for Pete.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/28/15 1:45pm Carmichael:

Don't know about Pete. I'm just wild about Harry.
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 1:47pm Tony Coulter:

@ βrian: Binocular TV! I like that one.
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 2:13pm Tony Coulter:

So, I'm sort of implicated in the existence of this Costes/Yximalloo cassette. Yximalloo was a house guest of mine for a few days around 1993 or 1994, and I played him Costes, whom he had never heard of, while he was staying with me. The rest is history.
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 2:14pm Tony Coulter:

"All we are saying, 'Give piss to you.' "
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 2:21pm Tony Coulter:

Have Costes and Yximalloo driven everyone away?
  Tue. 4/28/15 2:24pm Mark Williams:

i'm here, Tony!
  Tue. 4/28/15 2:26pm Mark Williams:

did you order the latest Bene Gesserit from EE Tapes, Tony? Can't believe what a bottomless well of "unreleased tracks" they have.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/28/15 2:27pm JtotheK:

is wondering why /his/ house guests never collaborate with musicians on records he plays for them...
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 2:29pm Tony Coulter:

Heya Mark! I did indeed order that Record Store Day BG EP! Alain Neffe is truly a bottomless well, on par with R. Stevie Moore or Sun Ra.
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 2:33pm Tony Coulter:

... when you add up the output of all his different projects, I mean.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/28/15 2:36pm northguineahills:

OK, all of comments keep on getting eaten. I believe Yximalloo is on a Free103point9 comp.
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 2:38pm V Priceless:

I'm here - this is the perfect foil to the guy washing his Earth-shaking-Mariachi-music-blasting van in the street, directly in front of the door to my office!
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 2:48pm Tony Coulter:

Oh, I should announce (and will): Jesse is on the streamwaves from 4:00 to 7:00 today, broadcasting live from the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston. Doug's show will air from 7:00 to 10:00 PM. Special, not-to-miss goings-on indeed!!
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 3:03pm V Priceless:

cheers Tony - thanks!
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 3:03pm Doug Schulkind:

What a great show! Thanks, Pete. Um, I mean Tony!
Avatar Tue. 4/28/15 3:03pm Tony Coulter:

Thanks everybody!! See you next week!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/28/15 3:06pm northguineahills:

It's always fun when Tony's tape hiss hits the 90s.
  Fri. 5/1/15 5:39am yximalloo:

But where did you get it?
  Sat. 5/2/15 8:02pm yximalloo:

Thank you!!!

BTW where did you get it?

I put the only one left copy on Ebay UK.
