'Under The Skin' I meant, but it also goes for 'The Holy Mountain'

I wish I could double-clicky-star or somehow leave a special flag on tracks that I need to go out and purchase.. would make making sense of my 10,000 favorites a bit easier

JakeGould:

No Brendan. Did not see "Under the Skin." Is that a film about the stigma and shame of splinters?
Avatar 11:26am
bobdoesthings:

@myself - or perhaps don't be so flippant with your precious clicky stars.. huh?!

Brendan:

Under the skin i thought was a really amazing example of filmmaking as art. People seemed to love or hate it, but if you like Kubrick, David Lynch , Nicolas Roeg , i cant recommend it enough.

Joe McG:

@Brendan: I really liked it.

This Riz Ortolani piece is beautiful. Hard to believe it's from a movie called Cannibal Holocaust.
Avatar 11:33am
bobdoesthings:

@andy m - you ever see it? It's pretty disturbing
  11:33am
JakeGould:

Now that I checked what "Under the Skin" was, I'll hate it because Scarlett Johansson is in it. She's miscast in all of these sci-fi/action roles.
Avatar 11:34am
Andy M.:

@bobdoesthings I've never seen it. Did you love it?
Avatar 11:37am
bobdoesthings:

@andy - No. But it was... well.. It was an experience. I just recall being disturbed.
Avatar 11:38am
Claw!:

Oh, Andy, that's just a name. There are no cannibals holocausting in that film.
But there are cannibals. And impalements. And animals being killed. If it weren't for the lovely soundtrack to even it out, it might be considered "Too Hot For TV!" by most folks.
Avatar 11:40am
bobdoesthings:

@claw -- yeah ughh I recall the turtle being killed.. that made me a bit queasy.. but yeah it was more of a shock film.. exploitation to the extreme.. Wasn't the main lady raped as well?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:40am
Nasty Les:

Yeah, 'Under The Skin' was for sure one of the best films I've seen in a long time. Some amazing imagery. Scarlett Johansson was great in it too. Kind of a more surreal and impressionistic 'The Man Who Fell To Earth' would be my closest description, but that doesn't really do it justice. Even if the plot description sounds more like 'Species' ;-)

Anyone see “Cannibal Slumber Party?”

Bob, now you're just spoiling it...

Yeah, can't hang with Cannibal Holocaust. Even the director apologized for the animal stuff.

@bobdoesthings and claw: I can never see cannibal holocaust because of what I've read about the animals. yuk. that soundtrack is crazy, though.

Joe McG:

@common: I'm not really into horror of any kind, so I've never seen "Cannibal Holocaust," but a lot of the music is really good.

@common: If you ever come across an edited version, check it out. The rest of it is actually pretty great.

The animal stuff killed it for me as well, which is kind of weird, considering what happens to people in that movie.

If I only had to listen to the music, I'd be a big horror movie fan.

Yeah Polyus, but with the people, it's all SFX. And most people are jerks anyway.
I fast forward through the turtle stuff. I like turtles.

I love horror movies. It's just a bonus for me that they tend to have killer soundtracks (no pun intended).
