I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

Sometime cain't tell if it's my refrigerator or Bryce's show.
But man I love it.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 12:36pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

I must have your refrigerator.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 12:39pm david_:

"yeah, it makes this weird sound on Fridays, early afternoon. could you come by and take a look?"
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 12:41pm Bryce:

Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 12:43pm coelacanth:

Hi Bryce and strange birds.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 12:52pm coelacanth:

this sounds more like my heat coming up.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 12:55pm Cheri Pi:

Be cool and don't look in the tupperware in the back of this fridge, I'm saving "that" for a rainy day.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 2/6/15 1:00pm Stepchild:

This from that untouchably expensive box? Been wanting to hear...
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 1:01pm coelacanth:

i'm supposing if it is special cookies it'd be in the freeze...so i'll be cool, and leave your container of fuzz alone.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 1:07pm Cecile:

sigh. Amiri and his closeted self-hatred.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 1:07pm Cecile:

He could read the hell of a poem, though.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 1:08pm Bryce:

hey, stepchild, it is! Ack, is it a bazillion samoleons?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 2/6/15 1:10pm Stepchild:

$340! PLUS shipping I think it weighs a gackzillion lbs, right?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 2/6/15 1:10pm Stepchild:

Clearly intended to be heard only over the air
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 1:12pm Bryce:

HOLY HELL!! uch....
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 2/6/15 1:13pm Stepchild:

Anoint us with its holy oils again sumtime, thanks sir!
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 1:16pm Cecile:

what boxed set are you talking about?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 2/6/15 1:16pm Stepchild:

NY Art
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 2/6/15 1:17pm Stepchild:

Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 1:18pm Cecile:

how many discs are in it? that sounds like a very expensive set.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 1:18pm Chris M.:

i had an extra copy of that box set so i threw it in the compost heap.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 1:18pm coelacanth:

that's how i feel about the king crimson 11;27;& 20 cd sets. they're obviously not meant to be heard by more than a handful of people.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 1:18pm Bryce:

Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 2/6/15 1:20pm sphere:

it's only 5 LPs even! the mind wobbles.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 1:21pm Cecile:

All their stuff is crazy expensive. They must spend a fortune on licensing, or packaging or just figure free jazz fans have deep pockets. That Cecil Taylor/Tony Oxley deal is $110 for a 2-LP set!
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 1:21pm Bryce:

they've been kind enough to include us on their promo list. (didn't realize....)
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 1:22pm Cecile:

that is very nice of them to do that. That actually means something! What is the packaging like?
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 1:24pm Cecile:

there is a whole book with it, and it comes in a wood box, but still...yikes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 2/6/15 1:25pm Stepchild:

Meanwhile, loving . HAd to look up the bassist on the Freedom & Unity track. Tyrone Crabb. Outstanding low end stuff now.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 1:25pm Cecile:

well, you guys are lucky you have it. Maybe you should play it all during a show?
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 1:26pm coelacanth:

you might be on to something that they think free jazz fans can afford that. i've been waiting several years to find certain David S Ware albums, and one Anthony Braxton- to be affordable.
  Fri. 2/6/15 1:28pm doca:

Is this from Angelina Jolie's father? Just kidding, great stuff.
  Fri. 2/6/15 1:29pm doca:

And you're right. For some reason special editions, reissues and free jazz boxset are expensive as hell.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 1:29pm Cecile:

I used to tell the folks at record fairs that I would spend no more than the price of a domestic CD (at that time around $18) for an album. I ended up getting some good stuff, because they had it priced way too high. Doesn't matter if NYCers will pay you $35 for it, you're in Mpls and the market will pay you a whole lot less.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 1:30pm Cecile:

that all ended with discogs.
  Fri. 2/6/15 1:32pm doca:

Did discogs pushed down or high the prices of albums? In Brazil we have a similar thing for books and the result was that the guys that didn't know the value of what they had started putting up the prices of what they sell way above what it was before, just because they now had a measure to compare with other sellers.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 1:34pm Cecile:

it depends on the release - I've gotten some good deals - but it raised the average price of desirable stuff. Now people in MN can get that $35 they wanted for their album because someone else will buy it from another place.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 1:35pm Cecile:

Still, in actual record stores, there's a lot more variance. Different cities have different "hits". Clean Santana records are still pretty cheap here, but last time I was in Lower Michigan, they were more expensive than I remembered.
  Fri. 2/6/15 1:36pm doca:

Yeah kinda the same that happened here. It makes it all into just one market.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 1:41pm coelacanth:

it goes both ways. some things that were formerly thought of as collectible, now, because of the internet, people can see that there are lots available.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 1:41pm Cecile:

once again, brick and mortar seems to be the place to go for an unexpected deal. And a good place to sell records if you know the local market well.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 1:44pm coelacanth:

i once paid $20.+tax for a 7" that now is easily available for $6. total. (ie)
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 1:45pm Cecile:

yup! and even collectible records go up and down in price. Depends on age of the audience, health of the performer, media coverage, etc.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 1:46pm Cecile:

I bought the first three Wipers records for a total of $7.50 because I got lucky and nobody knew who they were.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 1:47pm coelacanth:

if you mean the lps, i'm a little jealous!
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 1:48pm Cecile:

yup! Found 2 at used store, the third at an excellent punk/new wave store that was going out of business.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 1:51pm coelacanth:

oh,my. i paid more than that for the 3 album set on cd,though i did get a good deal because the jewel case was pretty well smashed. i'm sure i paid 10-15 for it.
...and i'll always prefer vinyl.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 1:52pm Cecile:

that's still a great deal for 3 discs.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 1:55pm coelacanth:

haha! well,up until now i felt lucky!
  Fri. 2/6/15 2:05pm Kemp:

I just tweeted about what I've been doing for the last 10 minutes, including getting into my car. So far I have not been faved.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 2:10pm coelacanth:

'reminds me of r stevie moore.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 2/6/15 2:11pm DCE:

my coworker's kid is sitting in the next cube over...wonder what he thinks of this.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 2:12pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

detected a 'Murrlind accent back there. But the googles says cincinnati. .. it's a strange world.
  Fri. 2/6/15 2:15pm Clay:

I asked Fabio if he had more in common musically with Bryce or Kurt Gottschalk. He felt that he and Bryce had more crossover of similar artists. Of course he deeply respects both of these men. I would love to hear Bryce and Fabio co-host a show and perhaps ... duel.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 2:18pm Bryce:

fabio has a crazy psychedelic photoprint shirt of a bullfighting collage. donna & i were in quebec city oonce, and i found the exact same one.

i keep trying to get him to wear it on the same day as me at a record fair so we can have a slap fight.
  Fri. 2/6/15 2:20pm Clay:

I would pay to see that. Maybe at Monty Hall.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 2/6/15 2:21pm Ike:

Ha ha, me too. I can just hear Fabio trying to laugh off the idea and claim that nobody wants to see that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 2/6/15 2:23pm cory:

i'd love a bryce and fabio show. don't know what the wife and cat would think about it though
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 2/6/15 2:23pm Stepchild:

You know your Fabio Ike. That's exactly how it would go
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 2:27pm kirk from beer city usa:

the only thing better than the fabio/clay interaction at the changeover is the bryce/kurt interaction, because it sounds like bryce is talking to himself.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 2:29pm Bryce:

though not as much as kenny g/irwin
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 2:29pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

This is a lovely thing in my ear.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 2:29pm Polyus:

Wow this is excellent. Must learn more.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 2:32pm TDK60:

The Fabio/Clay overlap is something.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 2/6/15 2:32pm Ken From Hyde Park:

@Kiirk - Other good ones: Pseu & Rich and Therese & amEdeo.
  Fri. 2/6/15 2:33pm Clay:

A week of shared DJ shows on FMU would be cool. I wonder what match-ups people would be interested in? By the way Bryce. LOVE this stuff you're playing. Are you drumming this year for Hoof?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 2/6/15 2:35pm cory:

i think clay and andy would be a blast
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 2/6/15 2:36pm cory:

The Dusty Show live from The Masturbatoium!
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 2:41pm Cecile:

I think Bryce and Fabio would just play 2 90 minute pieces and go out to lunch.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 2:42pm Cecile:

I always wanted to hear Joe Belock and Diane together. They like a lot of the same punk and garage tunes.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 2:42pm Cecile:

of course, Bryce and Fab would go to lunch while the pieces were playing. there would be no mic breaks and perhaps some dead air.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 2:43pm Bryce:

yes, i'm at subway right now
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 2:43pm Cecile:

Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 2/6/15 2:43pm cory:

sry, to hear that bryce. better luck next time.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 2:48pm Bryce:

the pakistani place was too far, even for experimental vocal music
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 2:48pm Bryce:

i guess i'll have to bring the hermann nitsch
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 2:49pm Polyus:

Jared is a big fan, I hear.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 2:51pm northguineahills:

Well, this has been a blast of fun, thanks!
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 2:52pm Bryce:

Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 2:52pm coelacanth:

there are 2 weeks of shared dj shows/year.
Avatar Fri. 2/6/15 2:52pm TDK60:

I think I recall Raymond Cass, the actor. He was a UFO freak?
