Street interviews, listener call-ins, vinyl gluttery, sporadic normalcy, original floperas and fiktion, blatant talking over songs, politix, tenderness, and a vague undercurrent of angst. Right up your alley!

Slade  Run Runaway   Favoriting RCA Victor  1984  45  I know there were better Slade songs in the '70's, but that being said, this is nice polished slab.
Paul Hardcastle  19   Favoriting Chrysalis  1985  45  From Wikipedia - "Hardcastle was inspired to create the song after watching Vietnam Requiem, and comparing his own life at 19 to those of the soldiers featured: "...what struck me was how young the soldiers were: the documentary said their average age was 19. I was out having fun in pubs and clubs when I was 19, not being shoved into jungles and shot at."

I should have said more about the content of the song. Maybe done some research.

Dick Hyman  Topless Dancers of Corfu   Favoriting Command  1969  45
Thanks for listening to this episode of The Dusty Show. I wasn't very prepared for it. It was one of those weeks where I went out to do interviews and I just couldn't find the will. Then I began another show which was to be 60 singles in 60 minutes, but I only got up to 28 minutes and ran out of time. So ... I grabbed some records and headed to the station. I guess that was the idea for SIngles Going Steady anyway, so ... I do feel like I've been flagging a bit during this Silent Fundraiser, and frankly lots has been goin' on. How about you? I hope to get some good shows in ahead, but I'm worried about how I'm going to pull anything worthwhile together for Halloween. We'll see. I do hope that if you listen regularly and you generally like the program that you'll make a pledge right here and now for The Dusty Show and WFMU. I'd sure like to get closer to that goal and save face. I bet you will come through. If you can't, don't worry. Keep listening and ... always remember. Jack Bruce

Good evening from Kaolack, Senegal, y'all.

I love todd, and his 70's output destroys Lennon's, but John made short work out of Todd when TR deigned to talk trash.

@Revolution It started with John calling him "Turd Runtgreen", and proceeded to scald. Todd was all appy-polly-lojjies after that.

@ Cecile I highly doubt it.

Speaking from experience, sixth graders in 1984 thought Slade was a new band and their version of “Cum On Feel the Noize” was a cover of a Quiet Riot song.

...this is nothing to Slade's great 70s stuff.

Todd never left, the band broke up. Stewkey was always the lead singer

Nazz were a pretty fierce Post-Wh♂ & Cream band w/ some Mamas&Papas Vocal Arrangement skills. Good records. The mix on their version 'Hello It's Me' is kinda wrong ; the vocal levels aren't quite right...dunno if Todd had his SuperProducer skills yet...
