On September 19th, 2009 DJ extraordinaire Grand Master Roc Raida of the X-Ecutioners unexpectedly and tragically died from cardiac arrest. He was only 37 years of age. This show is dedicated to the man born Anthony Williams who was survived by his wife Tyeasha Williams and their three daughters Asia, Nyra, and Tia. Daughter Nyra has carried on her dad's legacy by becoming a DJ herself - known as NyRaida. Since his sudden passing on September 19th, 2009 a fund was set up to help his surviving wife and their three daughters which is still active. I first saw Roc Raida on my older brother's skate VHS titled "Mixtape" back in high school - he had a bunch of clips of him cutting it up in between the skate parts... needless to say I've been inspired and influenced by Radia's approach to DJing ever since. RIP, gone but never forgotten
