Aerial View was WFMU’s first regularly-scheduled phone-in talk show. Hosted by Chris T. and on the air since 1989, the show features topical conversation, interviews and many trips down the rabbit hole. Until further notice, Aerial View is only available as a podcast, available every Tuesday morning. Subscribe to the newsletter “See You Next Tuesday!” and find tons of archives at aerialview.me. June 24, 2014: 2001: A Summer Vacation
I can't make it in to do a new Aerial View so please enjoy tonight's Aerial View Archive from August 2, 2001, titled "My Summer Vacation". The show includes a long conversation with my friend and webmaster Jack Taylor, who was living in La Jolla at the time. Jack and I discussed my first-ever visit to Southern California, a place I've talked about before. There's also an interview I did with a bunch of surfers who had just gotten stoned. On the road to Tijuana, Jack schools me on the "Fleeing Illegals" signs that dot the roadside. And then hear me walk into TJ with Jack, where we had lunch and I went shopping for the world's biggest switchblade. The background pic for this playlist is of me in TJ, 2001.
