Hi everybody! Yes, I was very sad about Rix's passing. (That was what WFMU-ers called him.) I'm dedicating the show to his memory. There's a link below the picture to his blog, which also has links to Rix's playlists and a few shows. Enjoy!

Hey Kat, the trip was fab, drove to Santa Fe, lovely place. ABQ had some nice parts and the "Biking Bad" tour was fun. Three hour cycling tour of locations that was centred around Jesse Pinkman.

Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 1:04pm
Sean in Bristol UK:

Sorry to be a bit dim here but is this Stewart Copeland on drums here?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:07pm
Guido from Cologne:

Stewart Copeland came with 4rth or 5th Curved Air album with Sonja christina as as only original member. This is the original line up.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 1:08pm
Sean in Bristol UK:

@Guido, thanks, I was a bit hazy on my Curved Air history
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:08pm
Irene Trudel:

@Sean, I don't think it was Copeland. All Music lists Florian Pilkington Miksa as drummer. Curved Air did have him in the band at one time but there were lots of personnel changes over the years.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 1:11pm
Sean in Bristol UK:

@Irene, thanks, to use a phrase from the Spinal Tap movie, this set has gone up to notch eleven!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:11pm

If i remeber the story right, Sonja and Steward became a couple before Steward entered the group. And all this came via impressaio Miles Copeland.

@kat330, you beat me to it! Wish I'd seen Procol Harum the past year but I'm glad they're still going. I saw them in '73 or '74, when their live album with the Edmunton Symphony came out. Great show-- and Leo Kottke opened!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 1:31pm
Sean in Bristol UK:

I can't think of any station on this globe where you can hear Procol Harum followed by Debussy, wonderful
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:33pm
Guido from Cologne:

I tried to get my mum intio Debussy and she hated it. My explainations that large parts of classic Hollywood soundtrack music is in large parts inspired by debussy didn't help.

I can envision classical following Procol since their music was so symphonically laced and influenced. But Kottke opening for them; now that is unusual even though it was a great show. Imagine if Bikoff had been the opener.
