Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 3:08pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

[with extreme subtlety, appears at the back of the room as if he's always been there....]
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 3:08pm Carmichael:

Very short window of listening opportunity here. Hiya Fabaroo and all of you other persons.
Thu. 5/8/14 3:11pm That Bipolar Guy:

I missed the intro:-(

Ha HA I am giant man
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 3:11pm common:

i love your entrances, rev.!
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 3:13pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

No entrance, @Common, I've apparently always been back here! Maybe? I have no idea!
  Thu. 5/8/14 3:13pm robert w:

Hey there.
Is my friend Fredrik coming in today?
If so, tell him to have fun and not to fuck up!
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 3:14pm steve:

hey ho failures
  Thu. 5/8/14 3:16pm El Topo:

Great to hear smooth and amazing sounds from LAFMS alum Fredrik Nilsen.
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 3:17pm chris:

Has anyone seen "The Trip"? Sounds groovy!
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 3:18pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

@chris: it's not the best film of the genre, but it's got some moments.
  Thu. 5/8/14 3:18pm BriJet:

Hello!
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 3:18pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

[holds a grapefruit at arm's length]
"....it's the SUN in my HANDS, man..."
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 3:22pm common:

i like the trip. heavy, rev!
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 3:26pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

I preferred PSYCH-OUT to THE TRIP, but they make a natural double-feature... [bruce dern's character in psych-out is the bee's knuckles]
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 3:31pm chris:

Thanks, Rev and common!
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 3:32pm common:

yea, chris...and i totally agree, rev!
  Thu. 5/8/14 3:34pm El Topo:

"Drama By Shakespeare" by the Precambrian Three, perhaps?
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 3:47pm Milson:

Is this all stuff Fredrik has brought in?
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 3:48pm steve:

www.lafms.com...

f yeah, had no idea there was an LAFMS store
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 3:51pm Kurt Gottschalk:

dammit, fabio! my phone beeped right before you said "is that your phone?" quit freaking me out, man.
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 3:51pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

jeezus, great store. I first got my copy of the Darker Scratcher comp LP back in 1985-ish -- it was a brain-changer for sure.
  Thu. 5/8/14 3:54pm Rock Pitts:

We got the OK from Daniel to play Amazing Three. Thanks Daniel, Fredrik & Fabio!
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 3:55pm Milson:

Fredrik, do you know anything about the musicians on The Stillife 10" "Rubrica"?

Dennis Duck and Tom Recchion play drums, but I'm unfamilair with some of the other folks... Chas Smith, Michael Le Donne-Bhennet, Michael Jon Fink.
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 3:56pm DCE:

I've seen Chas Smith, he's also a drummer, among other things, I would wager
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 3:57pm DCE:

...oh wait, not the same guy I was thinkin' of
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 4:00pm Milson:

@DCE - are you thinking Ches Smith?
Thu. 5/8/14 4:00pm That Bipolar Guy:

This sounds soooo familiar to me???? WAIT! This was what it sounded like when my parents fought
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 4:01pm DCE:

yeah, Milson, exactamundo!
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 4:03pm Milson:

Donkey Flyby, are you out there?
  Thu. 5/8/14 4:04pm Rock Pitts:

Chas Smith builds beautiful multi-string instruments, pedal steel on steroids. A cal arts grad from the mid-70's. He and other cal arts composers of the era have releases on LA's Cold Blue label. http://www.coldbluemusic.com/
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 4:06pm Rich in Washington:

this is all amazing. All of it is. Amazing. All.
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 4:08pm Giraffe Flyby:

Donkey's not here, man. That brother of mine:(
  Thu. 5/8/14 4:10pm El Topo:

It has suddenly become very quiet. Are you playing '4:33' by John Cage?
  Thu. 5/8/14 4:12pm El Topo:

Signal came back in, once I fiddled with the pop-up 128k mp3 link. Sorry.
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 4:14pm Sem Chumbo:

@El Topo. I need a meat shirt: 18 inch neck, 33 inch arm. Last one was delicious. You holding?
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 4:14pm Milson:

@ Rock Pitts - great info, thank you! Looks like it may be worth digging into some of those recordings...
  Thu. 5/8/14 4:20pm Lulu:

fuunnnk!!
  Thu. 5/8/14 4:23pm El Topo:

Sem Chumbo: All out of meat. How about lint or quinoa?
  Thu. 5/8/14 4:24pm robert w:

agree with rich in wash. amazing. all. thanks for sharing.
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 4:31pm Ike:

Good to hear a mention for El Daniel Bluminz, a mighty shining audio knight among DJs who must be exalted with a sacrifice of all the shredded Korean carrot salad and lychees you've got. Hand them over!
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 4:32pm Sem Chumbo:

Oh, quinoa. For the protein and the European cut. Hope you dune well after all these years.
  Thu. 5/8/14 4:37pm P-90:

...mmmm...now craving shredded Korean carrot salad...
...maybe lychees too...
  Thu. 5/8/14 4:38pm r i s k y:

This show is a snoozer.
Thu. 5/8/14 4:39pm That Bipolar Guy:

Honestly? The quickest way to get me to tune out is have an interview show
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 4:40pm Ike:

@P-90, it's a.k.a. markovcha: yulinkacooks.blogspot.com...
  Thu. 5/8/14 4:40pm Syl:

Hey, does anyone know where I can find info about No Magazine? Online search just brings up current mags of the same name.
Thu. 5/8/14 4:40pm That Bipolar Guy:

Sorry Fabio. When your done with your guest I'll tune back in
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 4:41pm Ken From Hyde Park:

The Failure of Satisfaction
  Thu. 5/8/14 4:41pm r i s k y:

THAT SOUND HE MADE WAS SOOO WACKY
  Thu. 5/8/14 4:41pm El Topo:

Sem Chumbo: Perhaps there is more than one El Topo. I certainly wasn't the first to claim such a name.
  Thu. 5/8/14 4:41pm r i s k y:

DO THAT AGAIN! Make that noise!
  Thu. 5/8/14 4:41pm Syl:

And to confirm, it's No Magazine, right? Not "Know" or "Noh"?
  Thu. 5/8/14 4:42pm r i s k y:

Yo, he should probably make that sound a few more times.
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 4:42pm Ike:

I'd also like to request that noise again. That had a very nice Bryce-ian quality.
  Thu. 5/8/14 4:44pm Syl:

Fabio, where'd you see copies of No Magazine? Any idea where can I find info about it? What years did it exist?
  Thu. 5/8/14 4:46pm P-90:

@ Ike: Ohhh, it's a zakuski dish, I get it. I was thinking you guys had some local Korean joint out there around JC that actually made a Korean-style shredded-carrot dish. "Korean" is just a Russian nickname for what i see now is a typical Russian buffet salad. Thanks for the info...
... of course I still want some now. Like RIGHT now. Damn the food talk on these boards!
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 4:47pm Milson:

Was there talk about Chip and Susan Chapman when the Le Forte Four tracks were played?
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 4:49pm common:

this is great fabio. thanks! i'll have to archive it for the rest. good eve to you all and...beersies.
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 4:50pm chris:

take it easy, common!
  Thu. 5/8/14 4:52pm El Topo:

Needless to say, I use unleaded gasoline, when in Portugal.
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 4:52pm common:

same to you, chris!
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 4:53pm Milson:

Did the LAFMS get invovled with the Japanese improv or psych scene?
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 4:53pm Rich in Washington:

SMEGMA!
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 4:54pm Milson:

Last one: Was there an affinity to the BUFMS folks? Or were they off on their own trip?

Sorry, this is great to get some history behind these recordings... thank you, Fab and Fredrik!
  Thu. 5/8/14 4:55pm totalputerprobperson:

My realplayer connection is for sh*t, DAMMITALLL!!! Damn you dirty filthy apes!!!!
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 4:55pm northguineahills:

Gotta love Blorp!
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 4:56pm Milson:

THE WHAT!?
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 4:57pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Duncan!
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 4:58pm Ike:

@total, RealPlayer?! Are you in 1998? Or is it an evil workplace from the bottom of the smegmatic oceans of Hell?
  Thu. 5/8/14 5:02pm totalputerprobperson:

No ike, im in 1999, ok!?! Did anyone see the John Turturro Gigolo movie? I did, and at times I was like,"John Turturro, move your face!"
  Thu. 5/8/14 5:06pm totalputerprobperson:

Can smegma ever really be new?
  Thu. 5/8/14 5:08pm totalputerprobperson:

What is the lowest form of failure? Intentionally hurting the innocent?
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 5:10pm slugluv1313:

WOW!!! LOVE that LAFMS website/store -- i still have "Darker Scratcher" LP and Monitor's 45 and LP, but so cool to be able to catch up with everything else! (and i did not know about the Rick Potts/Sissy Spacek connection!) EXCELLENT SHOW! THANK YOU, Fabio and Mr. Fredrik Nilsen! p. s. -- "Lowest Form of Failure" also as in "Lowest Common Denominator"?
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 5:11pm Cecile:

Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 5:28pm steve:

kitty - you must've missed the on air discussion minutes ago - Fabio and his guest were pre empting anyone thinking the vocalist was saying a very bad word...
  Thu. 5/8/14 5:28pm marmalade kitty:

nuts..
Avatar Thu. 5/8/14 5:30pm Cecile:

well, I know from that experience.
I did an animation for class for the word "twist" where the word "s" spun very fast in a clockwise direction for a few seconds, and it turns out when that "s" in that particular typefafce is rotated very fast, as my fellow student put it "Holy crap! I see a swastika in there."

Oh, noes.

@Milson - That would be awesome!
