"I listened yesterday. It's no reflection on you but I could'nt see where you were going or what you were going for. This early seventies thing did'nt get noticed the first time and you talk about friends of like Dealney and Bonnie who had records out like we're supposed to remember who they are. Then you play this long winded free jazz stuff that really grates on my nerves. And that noise without a beat and sounds like someones being pinched. Then you play a reggae song, I think you called it Dub, to what, be cool? You seem to really fetishize the whole folk thing too which is obnoxious to us who don't even care. I liked it when you played that punk song though. I like Joe Belock a lot." (Visit homepage.)

hi all. late march was amazing, like summertime.
now it is getting seriously springtime, like 20°c in the afternoon.
but wfmu djs dont complain any more about snow, so i guess it is somehow happening down there too.

bibi:

@sem, then are you some kind of acadian ?! aka francophony's limbo ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:34am
Sem Chumbo:

@bibi: that's a pretty astute way to out it. Parts of Nova Scotia were settled in the 16th and 17th centuries by French from the old country, and bits of that antique French still exist within a weird franglais patois those very durable communities still speak ( very fast,btw.) My father and his parents were Normadaise, so being Acadian is not part of my profile.

bibi:

thx for the info sem. and i didnt know 'astute', im pretty curious how to pronounce that (astucieux in french is a challenge too).

@bibi, it is "ass-tewt" with an English accent

Good morning John,
That W A Cooper was pretty amazing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:03am
Guido from Cologne:

In German the literal "Ass" means "Ace" (like in card-games).
One of the most rediculous "DEnglish"-creations (Germanized English used advertising and brand naming in order to appear "international" or hip) was created by the Cologne Public Traffic for a special "ride all day"-tariff.: Huge posters announced the arrival of the "Ass Ticket" ... as if we never had tourists of international trade-fasir visitors in Cologne! *LOL*
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:05am
Guido from Cologne:

... respectively if Cologne Public Traffic offers donkey-riding all day ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:08am
Sem Chumbo:

@Guido *LMAO*

But also works for coding right now.

@guido, i thought ass tickets were more common place in hamburg...
this drone comes right on time after youngs.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:02am
Guido from Cologne:

@bibi
Hamburg? Really?
I thought only Cologne officials could be that dumb.
Avatar 8:07am
bibi:

@guido, come on you dont see where im going ?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:13am
Guido from Cologne:

... I'm slow ...
... allright, one must know:
the first Eros Center in Germany was built in Cologne ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:13am
Guido from Cologne:

... and unspoken capital of gay scene is also Cologne ...
Avatar 8:17am
bibi:

some koeln/hamburg rivalry ?!
nice how drums popped up in the hypnotic midpart of that neuringer track.

Dragging an ox through water: I don't recall this as one of the 10 Ox Herding pictures...but it ought to be.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:32am
Guido from Cologne:

@bibi

- About the gay scene it's a commonplace.

- The other part is history:
Prostitution- and criminality-rates used to be the biggest in Cologne till mid-70ies. The red light districts here were the very first to be "cleaned up".

Nothing to be proud about. Though retrospectively it's quite amusing that hardly any native Cologne guy became a policeman.
