Good morning, Bob. Listening but in tax preparation survival mode. Glad WFMU is here to keep me company.
Avatar Sat. 3/22/14 9:05am Santos L Halper:

Gris-gris mornin' Bob!
Avatar Sat. 3/22/14 9:08am Mike East:

@David, I'll be right there with you later this evening. I usually like to do my taxes to Transpacific Sound Paradise....as much as anyone can LIKE doing their taxes...it also requires several beers.
Avatar Sat. 3/22/14 9:11am kat330:

Good spring morn, Bob! Been a while since I've been to these parts, but schedule permits this fine day.

Ahhhh, and you grace me with Nina! Thanks!
Avatar Sat. 3/22/14 9:12am kat330:

Actually, I'll presume you're gracing ALL of us with Ms. Nina Kathleen Simone. :)
Avatar Sat. 3/22/14 9:12am Mike East:

Nina Simone is my desert island artist. If I had her collected works, I wouldn't need anything else.
Avatar Sat. 3/22/14 9:13am kat330:

I'm with you, Mike.
Avatar Sat. 3/22/14 9:42am Mike East:

Sat. 3/22/14 9:47am Alfred Ron Richards:

Avatar Sat. 3/22/14 9:50am Mike East:

  Sat. 3/22/14 9:53am Mark:

Nice to hear some Dolphy. Who's playing the trumpet and the piano on this one?
Sat. 3/22/14 9:55am Alfred Ron Richards:

Just ask a fellow commenteer to babysit....what could go wrong?

Or one of the boss jocks.
Avatar Sat. 3/22/14 9:56am Bob Brainen:

Gonna try to see it next week (Grand Budapest Hotel.)
Avatar Sat. 3/22/14 9:56am Bob Brainen:

Did a Byrd die?

Avatar Sat. 3/22/14 10:05am kat330:

Philo's bringing home "Inside Llewyn Davis" even as I type. I understand it has mixed reviews, but I love that era, Dave Van Ronk being an artist I cover as much as any from then.
Sat. 3/22/14 10:10am Alfred Ron Richards:

I mean, cuz yer playing so many of their songs...usually signifies a recent death
Avatar Sat. 3/22/14 10:13am mauri:

Must see Grand Budapest Hotel. I wonder when its in cinemas here...
  Sat. 3/22/14 10:17am William:

Any truth to the rumor that Gene Clark co-wrote "Get To You" with McGuinn?
Avatar Sat. 3/22/14 10:19am Santos L Halper:

@Alfred: Bob's just one of those Byrdmaniax (as am i)
  Sat. 3/22/14 10:24am Michael Hurlbert:

Or the rumor that they cut out Crosby's picture on the cover and put the horse head there in his place??
Sat. 3/22/14 10:24am David in ATL from NJ:

The Dan.
  Sat. 3/22/14 10:24am Mark:

"Grand Budapest Hotel" is a masterpiece. Saw it yesterday.
Avatar Sat. 3/22/14 10:25am Guido from Cologne:

Good morning people.
Just saw the Notorious Byrd Brothers on the playlist, one of my faves. Lotsa moog experimetation and brilliant songs.

The Stooges biography states that "Tribal Gathering" was the blueprint for The Stooges' "1969".
How oabout that?
Avatar Sat. 3/22/14 10:28am Greg from Bloomfield:

SOCIAL D!
  Sat. 3/22/14 10:29am Mark:

That's no rumor, Michael--that really happened. They were all quite fed up with Crosby's shenanigans at that point.
Avatar Sat. 3/22/14 10:35am Guido from Cologne:

However the 1997-reissue is so great for not alone including the moog-experiments but also including Crosby's original contributions.
Sat. 3/22/14 10:43am Alfred Ron Richards:

The BI-sons' (early Jon Carroll/Mark Madigan band) Chug-a-lug is a little better.
  Sat. 3/22/14 10:56am Listener Mark:

Bob - Greetings from the Green Mountain National Forest. Very nice play list this morning. Thanks for keeping free form alive.
