Pretty sure I'll be late, but I do want to be here when I can. look like a nice young man, Mr. Drummer. SURELY someone has assumed your custody from me by adopting you this year...?

I'm hoping not, but one never knows.

Funny to hear Kevin's story about Moses Williams. I think it was his "Which Way Did My Baby Go" that prompted my first call Give the Drummer Some as well, probably in the mid-90s, which then started my long & winding search for the Drop on Down in Florida 2LP.

Yup, a socialist sales manager. RAT OWN.
Avatar    Fri. 3/7/14 11:23am listener james from westwood:

Although that little bit of "oobla-dee" sounded like Murry Wilson scatting along to "Help Me Rhonday"....
Ah, so he IS known! Thanks, GM in the AM!

The It's Friday guy is Murray Saul?!?!?!
Avatar Fri. 3/7/14 11:25am Stanley:

Was that that Ken Freedman, I've heard about?
Avatar Fri. 3/7/14 11:25am Goyim in the AM:
Avatar Fri. 3/7/14 11:25am Goyim in the AM:

Yup! That's Murray!
Avatar Fri. 3/7/14 11:30am northguineahills:

I tried 8 minutes of Keili and Doug at the same time. It's too much crazy for my wee brain.
Avatar    Fri. 3/7/14 11:30am Doug Schulkind:

I am changing "Unknown" to "Murray Saul" as we speak.
Avatar Fri. 3/7/14 11:31am Gary:

Most of you have seen this, but:
Avatar Fri. 3/7/14 11:35am joe:

'ello folks
Avatar Fri. 3/7/14 11:35am ndbob:

and I'm back
Avatar    Fri. 3/7/14 11:35am listener james from westwood:

'Ello, Joe! I have a ceramic version of that cup on my desk.
Avatar Fri. 3/7/14 11:36am ndbob:

@Holly I saw that parts of NC were getting snow and ice as well
Avatar Fri. 3/7/14 11:37am Goyim in the AM:

(I probably shouldn't tell anybody that my little hut in the Vienna Woods has been absurdly snow-free this winter, huh?)
Avatar Fri. 3/7/14 11:38am still b/p:

The story of that coffee cup's former NY ubiquity is interesting and odd. I forget the name of the father of the cup.
Avatar Fri. 3/7/14 11:40am Alex In Illinois:

@Goyim in the AM:
Someone might give you the Vienna Finger!
Avatar    Fri. 3/7/14 11:40am Doug Schulkind:

Say it IS so, Joe!
Avatar    Fri. 3/7/14 11:41am listener james from westwood:

Leslie Buck is the crafter of the cup:
Avatar Fri. 3/7/14 11:41am Holly in NC:

@ndbob - Yeah, it's just crappy here. Really, really, really windy, freezing rain (my car is covered in a layer of ice, not that I'm going anywhere, thank goodness), schools closed, whole 9 yards. The unceasing nature of the rain is quite astonishing, haven't seen anything like it since several hurricanes ago.
Avatar    Fri. 3/7/14 11:41am Doug Schulkind:

That's Charlie Parker on alto!
Avatar Fri. 3/7/14 11:42am Brian in UK:

Almost 10% of the overall total has been pledged today. Stunning.
It's not over until the DJ sings. Think my connection is breaking up!!!!!!
Avatar Fri. 3/7/14 11:43am Holly in NC:

LOVE Tiny Grimes!
Avatar Fri. 3/7/14 11:43am ndbob:

One of my big "what was I thinking" record stories is the time I was over my budget, and found some Charlie Parker 78s on Dial - for cheap - and didn't get them
Avatar    Fri. 3/7/14 11:44am listener james from westwood:

Aw, glad to hear you've got a home!
Avatar Fri. 3/7/14 11:44am Uncle Michael:

What were you thinking?
Avatar Fri. 3/7/14 11:45am still b/p:

Avatar Fri. 3/7/14 11:45am Brian in UK:

I did consider adoption, Doug. Just thought the domestics would be way too messy. Good luck, Van.
Avatar    Fri. 3/7/14 11:46am Doug Schulkind:

Not to mention me being not housebroken. Talk about messy.
Avatar Fri. 3/7/14 11:46am ndbob:

Still hurts me - and it was 25 years ago
Avatar Fri. 3/7/14 11:46am joe:

excellent pledge show Doug!
Avatar Fri. 3/7/14 11:57am Holly in NC:

Can't help it, I can't count how many times I've heard this song & I still just bust out laughing, a total mood elevator - how can you put a price on that?

But do TRY and put a price on that! :-) $75, perhaps?
Avatar Fri. 3/7/14 11:57am Gary:

Although, wait a minute, wouldn't it be a baby? B/c a baby would be in the maternity ward. I'm overthinking this ...
Avatar Fri. 3/7/14 11:57am northguineahills:

Awesome stuffs!
Avatar Fri. 3/7/14 11:58am Uncle Michael:

Great show Doug...let's keep this going for three more hours, people!
Avatar Fri. 3/7/14 11:58am Holly in NC:

And why oh why is poor Luna wearing a cone?
Avatar Fri. 3/7/14 11:58am Gary:

Yay, the humans!
Avatar Fri. 3/7/14 11:59am earrie:

I don't think I've ever heard the words "maternity ward" in a song before this..
