....and scene.
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:08pm Jeff Golick:

Did you miss me, Doug? Did I make you Sierra Leone?
(really stretching here)
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:10pm Gary:

@Jeff, you're going to have to translate that for the peanut gallery over here ... :-/
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:10pm hyde:

I never should have mentioned African nations and puns, perhaps?
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:10pm Doug Schulkind:

My favorite joke of all time: What is black and white and red and can't fit through a revolving door?

Answer if we make the goal!!!
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:10pm Holly in NC:

Lonnie & Floyd new to me, and that's the only song I was able to find by them via very quick, cursory slsk search - anyone know anything?
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:10pm Doug Schulkind:

It's all your fault, hyde.
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:12pm Holly in NC:

@Doug - That is a SICK, SICK joke!!!!!!!!!!!!
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:12pm ndbob:

Tiny Topsy made several great records
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:12pm Caryn:

I feel like branching out into cities and trying some real stretch with a Ouagadougou pun.
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:12pm hyde:

@Doug story of my life!
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:12pm Jeff Golick:

@Gary: was going for a lonely/Leone thing...ugh...

@Caryn - Soweto you waiting for?
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:20pm OuagaDOUGou:

I think I sprained something reading Ouagadougou!
Avatar    Tue. 3/4/14 6:22pm listener james from westwood:

I've got a terrible MS-DOS joke from probably 25 years ago:
Q. What do you get when Lee Iaccoca gets bitten by Dracula?
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:22pm Caryn:

@Stanley: It's such a stretch, and so bad, I feel like I'd need those WFMU rolling papers and... stuff... to go through with it. But might as well go through with it. I mean, Ouagadougou?
*ducks and covers*
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:22pm hyde:

@Jeff ack! I will forvere be haunted by this tragic misstep.

@ngh good luck!
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:22pm Caryn:

@listener james: hah!
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:25pm ndbob:

@james that's pretty great!
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:29pm Doug Schulkind:

Apologies if I'm missing any brilliant and wise commentary! My co-host (one of my cats) decided not to help out, so I am extra busy.
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:30pm Doug Schulkind:

Answer: When we make the goal.
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:31pm hyde:

@Doug first mistake: trusting a cat
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:31pm northguineahills:

I got a call back today after sending a resume yesterday. I believe it's the same dept I used to work for (different location) before being furloughed, it would leave a wee bit of irony if that's the case
Avatar    Tue. 3/4/14 6:31pm listener james from westwood:

Cats will turn on a dime like that.
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:33pm Caryn:

Hmm, from my personal experience, a cat's "help" usually amounts to sitting on whatever you are trying to use, so I kinda feel like your cat opting out might turn out to make things run more smoothly. Unless the cat moves to actually actively hindering things.
Avatar    Tue. 3/4/14 6:33pm listener james from westwood:

Good on ya, NGH. If you're rehired, see if you can pick up where you left off for any benefits (e.g., total years of service for vacation days/benefits vesting).
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:34pm glenn:

well, after they look at the dime with disdain and groom themselves first.
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:35pm Holly in NC:

@ljfw - love your joke

@glenn - and then hairball on it
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:36pm Doug Schulkind:

I have one cat the likes to warm herself on my external hard drive. I guess she keeps it from falling over.
Avatar    Tue. 3/4/14 6:36pm listener james from westwood:

A friend (a dog person) posted a while back that the family cat upped his game from his usual hairball horking by puking into a floor-mounted heating duct. My friend just put her head down and started crying. Can cats smile?
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:37pm glenn:

speaking of which -
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:38pm hyde:

that's zeno's paradox!
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:38pm northguineahills:

Thanks James, I believe if it works out, the benefits will restart where I left off (the subcontractor put everything on hold until at least July[coincidentally, same subcontractor])
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:39pm Holly in NC:

@Glenn - I LOVE that clip, but it also makes ME queasy. Power of suggestion ;-)
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:39pm Gary:

"Antelope Freeway, 1/2 mile ... Antelope Freeway, 1/4 mile... Antelope Freeway, 1/8 mile ... Antelope Freeway, 1/16 mile ..."
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:39pm Jeff Golick:

@glenn: copyright claim! Vid gone!
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:39pm Caryn:

@glenn: oh man, just the diatribe underneath the video about coworkes and Tropical Skittles had entertainment value.
Avatar    Tue. 3/4/14 6:40pm listener james from westwood:

I don't like seeing 47%. It reminds me of that clownzo Romney. Flush it, crush it, burn it, break it!
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:40pm northguineahills:

ok, Doug and DrummerSomites, I'm off for nom nom time. will be back for Jesse.
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:41pm Jeff Golick:

As for animal vids: currently have "squirrel attempts to hide nuts in dog's fur" on repeat:
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:41pm Matt from Springfield:

I swore I wasn't Ghana make a pun...!
Hey Doug and Drummers!
Avatar    Tue. 3/4/14 6:41pm listener james from westwood:

Did DJ Food do that huge audio survey of the 20th century from a while back? I think I heard part of it on the Re/Mixology show. Or am I going oobatz'? (Note: It could be both.)
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:42pm Matt from Springfield:

@LJFW: Wuh oh, 53% just keeps reminding me of that! ;)
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:42pm glenn:

also re: squirrels
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:42pm Holly in NC:

@ljfw - One of my 3 cats is a nervous eater (should've named her Loretta!) and she has puked in several ducts over her surprisinglyunshortened lifetime.
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:43pm Jeff Golick:

>>>> bows down to glenn <<<<
Avatar    Tue. 3/4/14 6:43pm listener james from westwood:

Yes, I believe I am thinking of the same DJ Food, here featured on the mighty Ubuweb:
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:43pm Gary:

Yay Harafin
Avatar    Tue. 3/4/14 6:44pm listener james from westwood:

@Holly: Nerves may have had something to do with it. I don't think the family had been in the house long. The cat may not have settled in yet.
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:44pm glenn:

i know, right?
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:45pm Jeff Golick:

Ok, off to feed the cat.
Oh, and the kids, too, I guess.

Rock on, Doug, and keep those pledges rolling in for the goodness that WFMU sends out into the atmosphere! And for the punchlines! We really need the eggs!
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:46pm Caryn:

I'll segue from animal vids via the YT animal vid to just YT vids. I keep watching this on a loop (just makes me smile):
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:46pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

DJ Food, see, these comments always turn to food.
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:48pm Doug Schulkind:

Seeya, Jeff!

There is a Kenzo-shaped hole in my heart at 2pm EST every Wednesday.
Avatar    Tue. 3/4/14 6:48pm listener james from westwood:

I'll be flying to Switzerland to see a specialist about it in May.
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:49pm Holly in NC:

I still have a Charlie-sized hole. Is Charlie OK?
Avatar    Tue. 3/4/14 6:49pm listener james from westwood:

Love Power!
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:49pm cklequ:

Same hole here james....

Kenzo.... Happy to see you've got a premium. I'm looking forward to it. Yours too, Doug.
Avatar    Tue. 3/4/14 6:49pm listener james from westwood:

Charlie pledged to Tony earlier today! And I concur; love his show. I use the present tense emphatically for that.
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:51pm Matt from Springfield:

Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:51pm Doug Schulkind:

Charlie will be back!

Greetings to you, cklequ!
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:51pm Caryn:

@Jeff: Some of my relatives, who like to go a little extreme and creative when hiding eggs for our easter egg hunts, would salute that squirrel.
Avatar    Tue. 3/4/14 6:54pm listener james from westwood:

Doug, the trouble is, this now sounds like a Kenny G show!
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:55pm cklequ:

Some of my favorite shows are Kenny G shows....
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:56pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Yup, I have a premium this year:
Avatar Tue. 3/4/14 6:56pm ndbob:

excellent pledge show Doug!
Avatar    Tue. 3/4/14 6:56pm listener james from westwood:

Speaking of Kenny G, seeing as he's tight with the Commander in Chief, maybe he can get us a little pledge from 1600 Penn Ave?
