It's Sunday - let's go to Choirch.
Avatar Sun. 2/9/14 9:12am Mike East:

god, I used to hate Mary Worth. Took up way too much space on the funny pages and was decidedly not funny.
  Sun. 2/9/14 9:13am LovecraftDude888:

Apt. 3G easily as dull
Avatar Sun. 2/9/14 9:13am Mike East:

Sally Forth was only slightly better.
Avatar Sun. 2/9/14 9:16am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

I don't read Cathy or Sally Forth either - altho' there was apparently a Wally Wood 'Sally Forth' that might work nicely w/ StonerMetal...
  Sun. 2/9/14 9:18am LovecraftDude888:

ha Carol Burnett did "Mary Worthless"
Avatar Sun. 2/9/14 9:24am Greg from Bloomfield:

All of those comics where the people looked real could suck it. I'm talking to you, Prince Valiant and Mark Trail.
  Sun. 2/9/14 9:26am LovecraftDude888:

Greg: i'm with you. Andy Capp rocked cause all they did was feck off at pub, drink, play snooker and smoke.
Avatar Sun. 2/9/14 9:28am Greg from Bloomfield:

My friend got me the Complete Calvin & Hobbes and it absolutely holds up. Closest thing to capital-A Art in the funny pages since Winsor McCay. Chris, I looked up your other DJ interviews! Any chance of that become a weekly thing? Or perhaps a daily thing?
Avatar Sun. 2/9/14 9:30am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- I have to fend for the draughtsmanship of Prince Valiant - altho' it might've been quite dull. Giving people a diurnal chuckle is not the worst thing human beings do...Calvin is top drawer.
Avatar Sun. 2/9/14 9:30am Chris M.:

@Greg: as soon as i get my tape recorder defrosted
Avatar Sun. 2/9/14 9:31am Mike East:

I'm sure I have a bunch of Calvin&Hobbes and FarSide collections in the attic somewhere.
Avatar Sun. 2/9/14 9:32am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...my daily Comics Bookmarks are on my old Fisher-Price brand computer - should see to that...
Avatar Sun. 2/9/14 9:32am Chris M.:

the funniest and best comic strip of all time is the run of thimble theater featuring Popeye. and it's all been reprinted. you're welcome in advance.
Avatar Sun. 2/9/14 9:36am Mike East:

I remember seeing Altman's "Popeye" when I was a kid and being really bored and pissed off that it wasn't like the cartoon. Coming to it later in life, I love it.
Avatar Sun. 2/9/14 9:36am Greg from Bloomfield:

Yeah, looking back I'm sure I would love all the art in the boring comics of yesteryear. But as a 10-year old after church I just wanted the goofy stuff.
  Sun. 2/9/14 9:38am LovecraftDude888:

ha that's the really earliest Popeye, sounds great....we skipped the Popeye film upon release since it got such a thrashing, never went
Avatar Sun. 2/9/14 9:40am Mike East:

worth watching just for the Nilsson soundtrack. Also, Shelley Duvall is a brilliant olive oyl.
Avatar Sun. 2/9/14 9:41am Chris M.:

Altman's Popeye is possibly the greatest musical film of all time

Avatar Sun. 2/9/14 9:55am Chris M.:

Jimmy Page actually played all the guitar solos on this record #rockfact
Avatar Sun. 2/9/14 9:56am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Bill Hicks: 'People accuse me of stealing my ideas from Dennis Leary - & that is true - but just to confuse everybody, I did them before him'...
