After seeing Paul at the English Olympics my friends and I have decided that Ringo is the best of the living Beatles.
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 9:45pm Jeezy:

I must say I quite enjoyed the new Paul song on the grammys. Third time was a charm...

  Fri. 1/31/14 9:47pm Gregor Samsa:

Hey Christo! Loved the gates in Central Park! Pseu, maybe you can convince him to wrap the WFMU building like a giant present with a bow on top?
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 9:47pm Jeezy:

And as far as the relentless Beatles hype for the 50th: I'm LOVIN' it... Each anniversary brings out great new (old) stories I'd never heard and I just plain never tire of hearing those thrilling early tracks. A welcome respite from the usual soulless tripe that occupies modern media.
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 9:48pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

Facebook is for Billy Ocean fans,

  Fri. 1/31/14 9:58pm P-90:

Good evening Revolution, Lovecraft, Pete from B. & gang.
@Rev + LcD888: Count me as huge longtime Echo fan too!
Whew, I like the setlist, shame to get here late. I'm relieved I didn't miss the Taylor Swift/Kelly Clarkson set, though
  Fri. 1/31/14 10:00pm P-90:

LcD888: "we"?
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 10:02pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

Kelly Clarkson is a waste of talent. There, I said it.
  Fri. 1/31/14 10:05pm P-90:

@Pete from B.: Guess I was secretly hoping that the "Top 40 Update for Clueless Old Geezers" would be a regular feature now...
WHERE did they find that Bruno Mars guy anyway
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 10:10pm Pseu Braun:

OK, you slags...If you don't like Kelly Clarkson, you're no listener to THIS SHOW. If you're constantly whining about how GREAT it "used to be", you should piss off and get a life. I can't entertain non-listeners and little bitches on this board. Straighten up or go the home, I haven't the patience.
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 10:10pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

Don't get me wrong -- I think the kid has talent, just lousy svengalis and handlers and whatnot. Hell of a set of pipes. Shame such garbage comes out of them.

Kelly, if you're reading this, get in touch. I know you're hurting.
  Fri. 1/31/14 10:10pm B.F.:

Touch it, touch it.
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 10:12pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

I also think I'm a waste of talent as a listener, for what it's worth. I really need to be put in my place for tuning in so amateurishly.
  Fri. 1/31/14 10:12pm marmeladenkatze:

Any hamilton streetcar, pseu?
  Fri. 1/31/14 10:13pm P-90:

@P from B: OK you acknowledge a "great set of pipes", is it the contemporary arrangements and production that turn you off and make it a "waste"?
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 10:14pm acid casualty:

That remember song had some beatlesque guitar.
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 10:14pm Pseu Braun:

HS won't fit in tonight, sorry
  Fri. 1/31/14 10:16pm marmeladenkatze:

no worries! great show!
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 10:16pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

Blah songs, uncompelling arrangements... packaged passion. But it's hard to be too critical, because she's doing what American Idols do, and without AI, she's still off in Little Town X.
  Fri. 1/31/14 10:16pm P-90:

@P from B: Or are you just being willfully controversial, you mischievous scallywag? [scallawag?]
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 10:16pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Was that the same Three O'Clock that play "Jet Fighter"?
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 10:17pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

No, P-90, I think she's genuinely possessed of talent.
  Fri. 1/31/14 10:18pm P-90:

"97 million" sounds about right for the percentage of total US population which resides in trailers
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 10:18pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

Is this characterization of non-Grammy-watchers a stab at Dave Mandl? I was enjoying his show that night because I like WFMU and Dave Mandl.
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 10:18pm Ike:

28.5 million, not 90.

This radio show is good.
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 10:19pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

My non-Grammy-watching was amid a positive pursuit. Why must it be negative? I also enjoy this WFMU show.
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 10:19pm JakeGould:

The only part of the Super Bowl I'm really excited about is the Seinfeld reunion commercial.
  Fri. 1/31/14 10:25pm P-90:

@Bruno Mars: last week we heard us some Sara Bareilles, Katy Perry, Rihanna (w/mikky echo), all just fine, then a particularly rancid snippet of one Bruno M.
3 out of 4 ain't bad, so no biggie
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 10:25pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

I'm going to spend Sunday evening moping about amid the criticism of what I do or don't listen to, because, you know, that matters.
  Fri. 1/31/14 10:26pm V Priceless:

Caught a chunk of it. Stevie Wonder was great, as usual, playing with Daft Punk, as was McCartney and QOTSA. Got any Mitchum calypso, Pseu? Or maybe The Move? Cheers!
  Fri. 1/31/14 10:31pm me me:

Love your show Pseu! Old and new. And I'm not an old geezer.

@Pseu Braun: don't go ANYwhere and leave me all alone with these guys

I knew I should have copyrighted "Super Bowel" when I made that email typo years ago...
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 10:34pm acid casualty:

I was flipping back and forth BTW Grammy's and barney miller. Thought nin was crap.
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 10:34pm Fuzzy:

I've called it that ever since!
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 10:34pm Pseu Braun:

Questions answered: I've already interviewed Alan on these airwaves. Pete, apparently it does matter to you, deeply. I played the Move several weeks in a row now...
  Fri. 1/31/14 10:34pm Andrew:

Pseu - I'm with you into the pop! I did watch some of the Grammys including Carole King's performance. Working at a HS I'm exposed to more current pop hits than I would be otherwise - semi-grudgingly I admit that I dig some of it. What's good is good! Not an NFL follower, but I always watch the Super Bowl. Thaks for playing The Three O'Clock. Are you familiar with The Hushdrops - you'd dig 'em. Please don't cut the show off early. Have a good one - AP
Fri. 1/31/14 10:36pm Super Bowel Snacks Inc. of Parsippany:

@ Fuzzy: Regardless, that is now a registered trademark.
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 10:38pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

It's not nice to characterize all the WFMU listeners as snobs. I turn my nose up at such pedestrian antics.

Besides, I relished every minute of Clay's Billy Joel show un-ironically.
  Fri. 1/31/14 10:39pm V Priceless:

I heard some of those Move moments, Pseu...very cool! What a great band! Thank-you!

Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 10:44pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 10:49pm Pseu Braun:

Lovecraft I've been getting complaints that you won't STFU. please REFRAIN from posting. 3-4 a night is sufficient unless I'm or someone else is engaging you, thanks.
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 10:50pm Pseu Braun:

THANKS MURPH!
  Fri. 1/31/14 10:52pm P-90:

@Ken from Hyde Park: I was thinking the same thing re: Star Baby, but admitting it seems to underscore my "old geezer" staus.
But WTF, if you can come out of that closet, so can I
  Fri. 1/31/14 10:54pm V Priceless:

Very catchy, that Sabina track!

Great idea Pseu! I'm with ya!
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 11:08pm Jeezy:

Wow... Pseu really is on the rampage! Lovecraft is a regular commenter on many shows... Maybe even a DJ, i thought... he seems to have been banished from the board. Yikes!
  Fri. 1/31/14 11:09pm kathy:

Just delete any comment that does not fit with your tiny reality. Ahhhhh, much better.
Discourse is so overrated.

  Fri. 1/31/14 11:11pm Mike Sin:

Re:"Star Baby"
Up until a few years ago, I didn't know that the song was actually pretty popular back in the day... I just knew it from the endless Guess Who comps. Somehow missed it in the '70s...
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 11:12pm Chop Scott:

Judge Judy an FMU DJ? Now there's an idea...
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 11:13pm Jeezy:

Pseu's simmering fury tonight is oddly beguiling. I kind of want her to throw me over her knee and spank me.
  Fri. 1/31/14 11:14pm P-90:

Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 11:14pm Jeezy:
