mornin'
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 12:04am Droll:

Dunno why it's called 2x5, it's in 6/8, and yes, I'm still stuck in my 6/8 phase.
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 12:06am Droll:

Okay, there's a bunch more math involved. 2x5 is probably in there somewhere.
  Fri. 1/31/14 12:06am Psycho Reggie:

Man, this Steve Reich is exactly what I needed tonight/ Good looks, Nick Name.
  Fri. 1/31/14 12:08am P-90:

Good Morning Nick ! I've said it before, I like the way you sound coming behind Dave and Bingo. A bit warmer in Jersey City than it's been, may I assume, since it's gotten warmer in NYC?
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 12:08am I dig taters:

Happy Friday all. Am looking forward to those promised artists Nick Name. Thanks for the show
  Fri. 1/31/14 12:09am Psycho Reggie:

Oh, and Droll, 2x5 refers to the musicians. It's a looped thing of two quintets consisting of drums, guitar x2, piano, and bass. 2x5
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 12:11am Droll:

Ahhh, thanks. The 2x3 King Crimson must be blushing.
  Fri. 1/31/14 12:11am Santos L Halper:

This...!
  Fri. 1/31/14 12:11am tom:

     Fri. 1/31/14 12:12am Nick Name:

yes 2008 - he is still delivering the goods
  Fri. 1/31/14 12:12am P-90:

@P.Reggae: Thanks for that. Are you like a full on Reich freick?
     Fri. 1/31/14 12:14am Nick Name:

Hi Droll / Psycho Reggie / p-90 - i dig tasters - and all else - thanks for joining
  Fri. 1/31/14 12:15am Psycho Reggie:

Nah, I dig him but I'm not expert. I got stoned and listened to this record a lot when my college station got it back in 2008 or whatever.
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 12:17am Droll:

It's worse than I thought -- there are videos: www.youtube.com...
  Fri. 1/31/14 12:18am P-90:

@Droll: Is that new 2014 Crimson 4 x 3 = 12 ? You just reminded me, I think that's what Dear Bob said.
Good bet they'll play some 6/8. I"m totally with Mr. Name on the bitchin'-ness of 6/8. It always sounds....."cosmopolitan" or something to me
  Fri. 1/31/14 12:19am Santos L Halper:

vini reilly-ish
Avatar    Fri. 1/31/14 12:20am Kurt Gottschalk:

     Fri. 1/31/14 12:37am Nick Name:

it fits like a glove
     Fri. 1/31/14 12:37am Nick Name:

a good comfortable glove
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 12:39am Droll:

I remember that as a Peter Cetera song, not Chicago, which I associate with Terry Kath.

Definitely good with whoever's playing bass here... I mean the song after Cetera on bass, of course.
  Fri. 1/31/14 12:42am tom:

that space 3, an old fav, thx
  Fri. 1/31/14 12:45am nate:

aw man, i missed chicago
  Fri. 1/31/14 12:47am P-90:

Avatar    Fri. 1/31/14 12:49am pacific standard simon:

Ooops, spoke too soon.
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 12:49am Droll:

I didn't realize Chicago was such a divisive band... It's gotta be the horns.
  Fri. 1/31/14 12:52am P-90:

@nate OMG that's right, that was wild. Freeform at its freakiest
@pss: don't be hatin' on poor Weinberg now, he was hip
  Fri. 1/31/14 12:54am CHICAGO:

Mwah-haha-haha-haha-haha-haaaaaaaa!
Divide and Conquer!!! Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha haaaaaaaaa
Avatar    Fri. 1/31/14 12:56am Kurt Gottschalk:

yay for claire chase!
Avatar    Fri. 1/31/14 12:59am pacific standard simon:

Didn't Terry Kath blow his brains out? Would that have had something to do with being partially responsible for Chicago?
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 1:05am Droll:

Ouch! I don't think Chicago was nearly that bad. Terry had an articulate and distinctive rhythm technique, and his "Free Form Guitar" on the CTA debut is nothing to be ashamed of.
Avatar    Fri. 1/31/14 1:09am pacific standard simon:

True -- I did like "Free Form Guitar" -- used it as an intro to Gang Of Four's "Anthrax" on a mix tape, and it segued PERFECTLY.
Avatar    Fri. 1/31/14 1:09am fleep:

Is it 25 or 6 to 4 yet? Nope, only 9 past 1.
Avatar    Fri. 1/31/14 1:10am pacific standard simon:

This Ground Zero is nice, too -- sounds like Naked City.
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 1:10am Droll:

Does anybody really know what time it is? Does anybody really care?
Avatar    Fri. 1/31/14 1:13am pacific standard simon:

Not me, dude -- I got the day off tomorrow!
Avatar    Fri. 1/31/14 1:15am pacific standard simon:

Speaking of good segues...
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 1:24am Droll:

Holy crap -- Sax Ruins is a Duo!
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 1:29am Droll:

. o O ( Uhhhh, pretty fuckin' stupified by Sax Ruins )
Avatar    Fri. 1/31/14 1:32am pacific standard simon:

joyful noise
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 2:06am flying airport:

I am guessing that "Under the Hills and Nearby" is a play on Led Zeppelin? I liked that Space Lady, did a search on Wiki and learned a little more.
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 2:21am Droll:

The artwork on Bandcamp for Under the Hills has a J-Card -- how quaint!

I was going to make fun of the Guardian Alien drummer for all the fancy rudiments, but then I looked them up and it's the drummer's band. Go figure.
     Fri. 1/31/14 2:54am Nick Name:

@ Flying Airport : not too sure? possibly. Yeh Space Lady cd is decent - thx for checking in
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 2:56am Droll:

Thanks NN. Great Reich and thanks for the clue about Sax Ruins. Have a fun week!
     Fri. 1/31/14 2:58am Nick Name:

Hey Droll - thx for commenting / hanging out - have a great weekend
Avatar Fri. 1/31/14 2:58am flying airport:

I did check the Bandcamp and I'm sure he is pun-ning Over the Hills and Far Away, a Led Zepplin tune. Thanks again
Avatar    Fri. 1/31/14 2:59am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...oohhh - nnn...as long as I get 6/8 hours of sleep a night...mummblemmummble...
