My heart's pretty satisfied. I've got a hungry belly, though...almost time for soup.
Avatar Tue. 1/14/14 6:07pm dale:

huzzah for the 'weird' franchise. weird ny especially.
Avatar Tue. 1/14/14 6:11pm Danne D:

Let 'em have it Chris!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 1/14/14 6:11pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Speaking of Bruce, is Bruce Springsteen playing at the Super Bowl halftime show? Google search shows he played it in 2009, so maybe he's had enough of that.
  Tue. 1/14/14 6:12pm Robin Eublind:

What do you think of Rachel Maddow's theory:

In 2010, Christie took the unprecedented step of refusing to reappoint a New Jersey Supreme Court justice for another term, which set off the New Jersey Democrats, who got back at Christie by shooting down all the other Supreme Court justice nominees he put forward.

So when a Republican member of the New Jersey Supreme Court came up for reappointment last year, NJ Senate Democrats promised to make it a brutal fight, so Christie decided to stop the reappointment. He was furious at Senate Democrats, and held a press conference getting really angry with them.

That press conference, expressing much anger with Senate Democrats, was held on August 12, 2013, a day before the Bridgegate e-mail was sent. And Fort Lee, the town that got backed up, is part of the legislative district represented by Loretta Weinberg. The leader of the Senate Democrats.

Surprised the media hasn't touched very much on Wildstein's "Wally Edge" persona
Avatar Tue. 1/14/14 6:17pm Danne D:

There was a mayor of Garfield who was 18, I believe.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 1/14/14 6:17pm Mike East:

@Ken - I don't believe so. I know he was rehearsing in the city last week, though, so its possible. We have a piano going to the superbowl, but its definitely not for the boss.
Avatar Tue. 1/14/14 6:19pm Danne D:

Per Wikipedia I am wrong - Harry Zikas was 21 when he was elected mayor of Alpha (youngest ever).

James Kern, the current mayor of Pohatcong is 24 - was 22 when inaugurated as mayor.
Avatar Tue. 1/14/14 6:21pm Danne D:

Blog is a massive understatement.
PoliticsNJ, now Politickernj is pretty much the most prominent political website in New Jersey. He kept his anonymity as Wally Edge for over a decade - it was a massive mystery in NJ politics.

  Tue. 1/14/14 6:21pm Robin Eublind:

Christie said in press conference he hadn't seen Wildstein in a long time, but there is [reportedly] a photo of Crhistie at the bridge during the traffic jam with Wildstein.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 1/14/14 6:27pm Mike East:

What's the point of being governor if you can't impose your will on the streets of your kingdom? He was elected by the people, and therefore, he gets to do what he wants. That's democracy, right?
Avatar Tue. 1/14/14 6:27pm Danne D:

(Newark is bigger btw - 103rd in area in the state. Jersey City is 133rd) :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 1/14/14 6:32pm Carmichael:

Bruno Mars is tyhe Super Bowl halftime show, which doesn't really explain the piano.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 1/14/14 6:33pm Mike East:

@Carmichael - Its not for him...but I don't see any mention of the person it IS for, so I think maybe I'm not supposed to say anything.
Avatar Tue. 1/14/14 6:33pm dale:

chili peppers playing the big game (super bowl is a trademark we can't mention) as well
Avatar Tue. 1/14/14 6:33pm Marshall Stacks:

Don't you think the Republicans' ultimate goal re education is to dismantle public schools? Vouchers, anyone?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 1/14/14 6:35pm Carmichael:

The Republicans' goal is to dismantle everything that happened for the last (soon to be) 8 years. They have no other plans, as far as I can tell.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 1/14/14 6:35pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

I went on the Fox News mobile site a couple of days ago. The Christie story was buried beyond findability at best, absent at worst.

The New York Times regional section, which largely ignored the story since it broke in September (The Record has been following it continually) has led with 6-7 'Bridgegate' stories each day lately, many very scathing.

Reality, as usual, probably lies somewhere in the middle.
Avatar Tue. 1/14/14 6:38pm Danne D:

I'm sad :(
He was a victim :(
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 1/14/14 6:38pm Mike East:

hahah! I hadn't heard that "sad guy" clip. Love that.

Avatar Tue. 1/14/14 6:41pm Danne D:

Wall Street Journal has been quite hot on the story, not exactly your typical liberal rag.
  Tue. 1/14/14 6:45pm mikey capone:

in some ways the cover up seems worse than the crime.
  Tue. 1/14/14 6:49pm deed:

the first thing to go wrong was they involed a multi-state agency
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 1/14/14 6:51pm Ken From Hyde Park:

The governor can just issue a pardon and all is well. No, wait. ... what?
Avatar Tue. 1/14/14 6:52pm dale:

what he said just now. i always wondered how closing four lanes of traffic punishes anyone OTHER than the drivers who use the bridge.
  Tue. 1/14/14 6:52pm Tricky Dick:

Nobody covers politics like FMU. Shut up and play your weird music.
Avatar Tue. 1/14/14 6:53pm dale:

and that was fema money he used for that ad campaign. dick.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 1/14/14 6:53pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

There's a race on to define the story, and this time Christie has been losing the race, and has seemed like the last one to realize he's been losing it.

The story's been persisting in the papers since September, and Christie has been trying to bluster and ignore it away for four months. Four months it has taken him to realize it's not going away.
  Tue. 1/14/14 6:54pm Chris:

Ken, please give me a hug.
  Tue. 1/14/14 6:54pm emmagineering:

i love his gov. christie fleece!
  Tue. 1/14/14 6:55pm Corzine:

And I'm still laughing all the way to the bank. Thanks FMU.
Avatar Tue. 1/14/14 6:59pm dale:

Tue. 1/14/14 6:59pm Morgan Foster Larson:

I told you that bridge would bring trouble!
