I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

Shorter songs than normal are nice too, but don't the lead to longer mic-breaks? I mean, I think I like your mic-breaks more than you do so *I* don't mind.

@Bryce: have you read the The Quietus piece reappraising Enya's first album released 25 years ago? I thought it was so convincing that I'm only awaiting a reappraisal of Jean-Michel Jarre's body of work
Avatar    Fri. 1/10/14 1:11pm Bryce:

haven't seen it! was that right after clannad??
Avatar    Fri. 1/10/14 1:14pm doca:

Yes, right after it. Actually it is her second album, Watermark. Here it is: thequietus.com...
Avatar    Fri. 1/10/14 1:15pm doca:

The writer has a very sound point here: "I've actually been planning to write an In Defence Of Enya feature for the Quietus since the very day we started the site. For years, saying you liked Enya was enough to get you laughed out of town. Recently, though, her implicit presence has been everywhere (whether intentional or not). A recent example would be Julia Holter's 'Horns Surrounding Me', a kissing cousin to Watermark's 'Cursum Perfico'. Or how about early Laurel Halo, Julianna Barwick, Grouper; even new Burial track 'Rival Dealer' has an Enya passage, as if his night bus had got lost up a country lane. She's surely ripe for a reappraisal."
It's just like that new comp on private New Age music 1950-1990.
Avatar Fri. 1/10/14 1:19pm braveness23:

B23 here! Got back from lunch and started working but was seriously concerned about the noises my computer was making. Upon further inspection I realized that I had left WFMU streaming through my headphones. Hi Bryce.
  Fri. 1/10/14 1:27pm nic:

super
Avatar    Fri. 1/10/14 1:30pm Carmichael:

Separating Enya the person from her product has been tricky for me. Same with Sinead O'Connor. I like their output, but have trouble with their personalities. Being from Wexford, I suppose I have a chromosonal bias.
Avatar    Fri. 1/10/14 1:33pm doca:

@Carmichael: Haha I get the same feeling with Caetano Veloso. But I find it harder to separate the musicians from their annoying fans. Just in case, I think it took me ten years to being able to really listen The Smiths.

@Bryce: Brazilian Nuggets blog says that it was recorded on a garage on a 2-track recorded and issued only as a private 10'' release. Rare stuff!

Enya...Clannad....eh, I was never massive into them but they were ok. I like that Enya album alright, but haven't heard it in ages
  Fri. 1/10/14 2:17pm LovecraftDude888:

I felt the same way about her music as who was that band that did that song "SADE-NESS"? late 80s or so? Kind of new agey instrumental stuff? trip hop meets Gregorian? I thought a lot of that pop music was a flash in der pan. and I was mainly right
Fri. 1/10/14 2:17pm just tuning in:

Did you say ENYA? I love ENYA and Clannad.
Avatar    Fri. 1/10/14 2:18pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

2. the spicy tofu wasn't.
3. it never is, to be fair.
4. there is no no.4.
  Fri. 1/10/14 2:19pm LovecraftDude888:

someone had mentioned this quietus revisit of Watermark. I haven't heard the whole album in ages and ages. I meant also the band ENIGMA....had that new agey sounding song Sade ness
around 1990. Pleasant but kind of fluff.
  Fri. 1/10/14 2:22pm LovecraftDude888:

One band I really dug then was Propaganda...the German pop group, now they put out some good stuff! That album with Duel on it...one of my faves. I found it at HMV in 1998 or so and glad since they closed soon afterwards
Avatar    Fri. 1/10/14 2:24pm Rev. Turnip Druid:
