Avatar Fri. 12/27/13 3:26pm Mary Wing:

All songs need to have significant high-hat action, to mirror Minnesota Jeff's gif.
Avatar Fri. 12/27/13 3:26pm braveness23:

Great song. Who in the heck have I heard cover this? Big Star?
Avatar Fri. 12/27/13 3:26pm northguineahills:

Avatar Fri. 12/27/13 3:37pm northguineahills:

I had no idea the NPG were active in the late 90s. *wikis* What do know?
Avatar Fri. 12/27/13 3:38pm Carmichael:

Heya, Koit. Hi all you freaks on that side.
Avatar Fri. 12/27/13 3:44pm northguineahills:

I thought I had all of Dj Wally's stuff. I believe I don't have that one. If I remember correctly, Dj Wally is the nephew of Paul Simon (or some close relation).
  Fri. 12/27/13 3:45pm ?:

hi Kurt, are you taking requests?
Avatar Fri. 12/27/13 3:47pm Kurt Gottschalk:

ngh: srsly?
?: doubtful
Avatar Fri. 12/27/13 3:48pm northguineahills:

Dj Olive told me that's how he got rights to sample the 59th St Bridge Song.
Avatar Fri. 12/27/13 3:52pm Kurt Gottschalk:

ah, interesting. i like his stuff. his uncle's too.
Avatar Fri. 12/27/13 3:58pm fred:

That scream you just heard was Richard Ashcroft remembering that time he punched Mick Jagger's nephew in the face
Avatar Fri. 12/27/13 4:16pm fred:

Whenever a great musician dies, I'm reminded of hearing Scott McDowell say he had a regular segment of Cecil Taylor's music because he wanted to pay tribute to a great musician while he was alive. Doug seems to have felt the same
Avatar Fri. 12/27/13 4:19pm Kurt Gottschalk:

it's a noble dj goal for sure!
Avatar Fri. 12/27/13 4:30pm fred:

I hope Prince lives a lot longer, I'd hate to see the competition between you and Duane for the most complete yet obscure tribute
Avatar Fri. 12/27/13 4:31pm northguineahills:

Back on the phone queue waiting to fix my unemployment claim. On furlough until late January, and w/ a new administration, it's not 100% bet my contract will be re-signed.
Avatar Fri. 12/27/13 4:31pm Kurt Gottschalk:

ha! maybe a peaceful 6-hour tag team set.
Avatar Fri. 12/27/13 4:34pm fred:

@NGH: I hope it will turn out for the best. Maybe Apple will come calling again the minute you sign

Ok, I'm eligible come Jan 6th (b/c I made too much $$?, that's what they told me) even though I haven't worked since Dec 10th. I have enough money to last me until the end of February, but it does make it hard to save money w/ gaps in paychecks.

I think I might email that Apple maps guy again, thanks for reminding me fred!
Avatar Fri. 12/27/13 4:42pm frasconi:

In Long Beach, CA in the late 60s. A few days after hearing Duke Ellington at Disneyland. M'dad was a total jazz head.
Avatar Fri. 12/27/13 4:43pm Kurt Gottschalk:

no matter how long i live i'll never see duke ellington in concert. *sigh*
Avatar Fri. 12/27/13 4:46pm Minnesota Jeff:

What about that Duke Ellington that plays the bass with his wiener? You could go see him.
Avatar Fri. 12/27/13 4:47pm northguineahills:

Kurt, you'd have a shot if you lived in the opposite direction on the fourth dimensional plane.
Avatar Fri. 12/27/13 4:47pm fred:

Wow! Party like it's 19990! Now that's lasting power
Avatar Fri. 12/27/13 4:50pm Kurt Gottschalk:

[blissed out by reeds and brass]
Avatar Fri. 12/27/13 4:55pm Minnesota Jeff:

Avatar Fri. 12/27/13 5:02pm Minnesota Jeff:

No one makes the world seem like its going to end at any moment, quite like Woody Guthrie.
Avatar Fri. 12/27/13 5:04pm Kurt Gottschalk:

so true
Avatar Fri. 12/27/13 5:13pm Carmichael:

Boy, some Ian Dury would fit well here. Gotta remember this mix.
Avatar Fri. 12/27/13 5:15pm Kurt Gottschalk:

true, carm, but i've already moved on...
Avatar Fri. 12/27/13 5:17pm Carmichael:
