YES -- was so happy likewise -- a huge treat. You could see that so many people were so thrilled that the Record Fair did not get throttled by Nature for a third straight...

Scott, I saw you at the fair, but didn't say hello. You seemed busy at the time...understandably so. Many volunteers to wrangle.

Hi Michelle. I love Yo La Tengo. Have seen them a couple of times and they are great live. Must pull out some cds.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:19pm
Scott Williams:

not big on the PC Worship, but I've always loved this track. now more than ever
Avatar 4:19pm
Cheri Pi:

I can just see the twists and folds in the tape.

Hiya Scott. Thanks for this, I think ...
Avatar 4:20pm
DeemerDave:

Who's smothering Genesis under a pillow?
Avatar 4:20pm
Roberto:

This reminds me of a stream-of-consciousness audio montage I made circa 1982. It had an excerpt from Abacab on it.
Avatar 4:20pm
Cheri Pi:

...the OCD CP wants to clean this tape.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 4:20pm

It does have that 1/2-mile-from-the-festival-stage feel.

DeemerDave: Question is, who's NOT...
Avatar 4:21pm
steve:

if you could take this filter sound and put it in a box... you'd be rich
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:22pm
tim from champaign:

How long has the cassette been kicking around the studio?
Avatar 4:22pm
steve:

"I am sitting in a room listening to Genesis"
Avatar 4:23pm
Cheri Pi:

what color is the cassette? I bet it's "dirty white"
  4:23pm
Marie:

This was like the beginning (?) of thier descent into ever increasing levels of drabness. There is something about this bass that is so robotic...
Avatar 4:24pm
Carmichael:

Please don't tweet that, Steve.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:24pm
Scott Williams:

@steve, hahaha! there are plugins to attempt this sound btw - "the club downstairs" kinda things. I'm seeing the tape here for the 1st time today
Avatar 4:25pm
Roberto:

Also featured on this and other montages: Whole Lotta Love, Don't You Want Me, and Say It Loud – I'm Black and I'm Proud.
Avatar 4:26pm
Carmichael:

OK, everybody up! Time for calisthenics.
Avatar 4:27pm
Roberto:

Oh, and the best part was that Say it Loud was recorded as aired on a French language radio station. The DJ's intro was priceless.
Avatar 4:29pm
steve:

discerning ears know the magic that can only come from a Genesis cassette that's been in someone's trunk for 20 years
Avatar 4:29pm
Carmichael:

Awesome, Roberto! I taped a Korean rock DJ introducing Ted Nugent, followed by Peaches & Herb. Equally cool.

Hello Scott quick dip in. Drove through Llangollen the other week, it was beautiful with the leaves turning to gold and russet, sun shining and on to the Snowdonian mountains. Stunning.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:39pm

Nice to hear, Brian in UK! Been there once, in '97 - would love to come back. twas there I learned how to pronounce "Llangollen" - mind blowed

Avatar 5:16pm

NP.
  5:20pm
Marie:

Wow. I love this. (Plus, i would love to hear some Genesis (later stuff) remixed, that could be fun. I think they were produced badly.
Avatar 5:29pm
steve:

Scott, is making fake historical synth music a thing? i recall a few years ago DMX Krew put a track on one of his mixes that was supposedly "Music from Russian Workout Videos" that the most magical sounding thing, but there was absolutely no info about it anywhere, and i wonder about it to this day
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:31pm
Scott Williams:

i hope so, steve! i gotta look into the dmx crew track you speak of
