Avatar Fri. 11/22/13 11:01am Lewis:

yeah - I think it must have been 2 years in my new job. Not sure why that merits note beyond my ongoing gratefulness to have a job. Not something I take for granted these days.
Avatar Fri. 11/22/13 11:01am Doug Schulkind:

@northguineahills
Vinny Golia is wonderful. Not well known because he's a left-coaster. Has been recording and releasing his own music (and the music of others) for years on his own record label, 9 Winds. Much spectacular stuff from him, et al.
Avatar Fri. 11/22/13 11:01am northguineahills:

I thought this sounded odd for that Dutch rock band, Golden Earring.
Avatar Fri. 11/22/13 11:02am ndbob:

Yep - you are Doug - definitely local - lights still flickering a bit

Hey Doug, I just hit you up on LinkedIn. But I realized you probably don't know my real name.
  Fri. 11/22/13 11:15am earrie:

What year was this recorded, I wonder?
Avatar Fri. 11/22/13 11:17am Doug Schulkind:

I accept, Carmichael, I accept!
Avatar Fri. 11/22/13 11:21am Doug Schulkind:

Thanks, Doug. Now you know ...
Avatar Fri. 11/22/13 11:25am Doug Schulkind:

Your secret is good with me, Joe Biden. (Oops!)
Avatar Fri. 11/22/13 11:26am still b/p:

Speakin' of dates, Jimi's holding the Sept. '67 issue.

When someone I know sends me one of those LinkedIn invites here's what they freakin' need to do: Spell out briefly and accurately exactly what it means to accept the invitation. What kind of information is exchanged around what circles, etc. What happens, what the hell happens? LinkedIn itself, with all those auto reminders of invitations should include a capsule overview of what the hell it means, what's involved. The inviters never give a good explanation, even when asked directly.
Avatar Fri. 11/22/13 11:28am Doug Schulkind:

@still b/p
It sure seems like all those LinkenIn invitations are automated and have nothing to do with the person on the other end.

What a pathetic species we are.
  Fri. 11/22/13 11:32am earrie:

oh- take a step back for some perspective - it's all about collecting info because that's what they're selling.
Avatar Fri. 11/22/13 11:38am Brian in UK:

I feel it my duty to refuse any Linkedin requests.

Doug, I am still getting over 50 Miles of Elbow Rooms' Charlie Jackson live material. Again a Nutt collaboration.
Avatar Fri. 11/22/13 11:39am Brian in UK:

It's only me?
Avatar Fri. 11/22/13 11:39am Gary:

This is awesomeness
Avatar Fri. 11/22/13 11:39am Doug Schulkind:

I really just want to create a web of false identities on all the social media/data mining sites and have them all interact and self-refer and slowly bring it all it to its knees. Can I just do that, please?
Avatar Fri. 11/22/13 11:40am Uncle Michael:

Per usual...the next room: wfmu.org...
Avatar Fri. 11/22/13 11:40am Uncle Michael:

No worry...'sonimi.
Avatar Fri. 11/22/13 11:40am Carmichael:

I get requests from a) sales trolls, b)professional peers, and c) people from my youth looking to re-connect. I typically delete a), connect with b), and scour my memory banks before considering c).

Adam Lore at 50 Miles is a one of the world's great humans. And you know my affection for Mr. Nutt. No Nutt allergies here!
Avatar Fri. 11/22/13 11:41am Brian in UK:

Doug, by doing that you are reacting to those mothers not creating.
Avatar Fri. 11/22/13 11:41am βrian:

It's annoying to get linkedin requests when you've never had an account there.
Avatar Fri. 11/22/13 11:41am Uncle Michael:

Nice rum runner you got there Carmichael.
Avatar Fri. 11/22/13 11:42am Doug Schulkind:

Uncle Michael beat me to it! He'll be broadcasting live from Parkland Memorial Hospital, next! wfmu.org...
Avatar Fri. 11/22/13 11:43am Uncle Michael:

They won't let me or Dan Rather in!
Avatar Fri. 11/22/13 11:45am Doug Schulkind:

OK, then I won't do it, Brian. Thanks for saving me all that trouble.
