Avatar    Wed. 11/20/13 12:28pm Amanda:

Yes Kenzo, I sang it! Matt -- serves you right for needing 2 eat
Avatar Wed. 11/20/13 12:30pm Matt F:

Does this count as millenium rock?
Avatar Wed. 11/20/13 12:31pm ottovonbqe:

How on earth did I get so jaded? Life's mysteries seem so faded.
Avatar    Wed. 11/20/13 12:31pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Thanks for singing! And I'm going to be looping The Breeders live in a coupla hours. Maybe take a break from Jim Steinman this week.

Avatar    Wed. 11/20/13 12:52pm listener james from westwood:

congrats, ndbob! i made an account but haven't signed up for anything (my insurer here in NJ isn't moving folks to new, ACA-compatible plans until Sep '14, although I think I can sign up for one now thru them directly come early next year.)
Avatar    Wed. 11/20/13 12:54pm ndbob:

I have an individual COBRA conversion plan now - my health costs will be cut in half
Avatar    Wed. 11/20/13 12:55pm Amanda:

Thank you for the compliments, creeps!

I am in the process of finagling a health plan too. Getting it partially depends on being able to write off record purchases as a business expense.

Avatar Wed. 11/20/13 1:10pm Doug Schulkind:

Just came back from selling a box of vinyl to Jerry's Records. I feel miserable.
Avatar    Wed. 11/20/13 1:12pm Amanda:

Start buying them back one by one.
Avatar    Wed. 11/20/13 1:14pm listener james from westwood:

i would always feel that way when giving away or selling books.
Avatar    Wed. 11/20/13 1:14pm ndbob:

Sorry Doug - done that a few times - I brought the 45s with me on this move but gave away the LPs - with a few exceptions
Wed. 11/20/13 1:16pm Listening Out There:

I used to have a copy of that Duane Allman anthology. It was vinyl...
Avatar    Wed. 11/20/13 1:18pm ndbob:

@James I gave away all the books I had read and shipped the rest
Avatar    Wed. 11/20/13 1:22pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

P.S. Amanda, I remember that Safari EP, and in fact so much of your show reminds me of my 90's radio days and what we had in our new bin!
Avatar    Wed. 11/20/13 1:22pm Kurt Gottschalk:

TALK TILL 2!!
Avatar    Wed. 11/20/13 1:23pm listener james from westwood:

i can get behind ID'ing the voiceover folks. always used to latch onto that as a kid. e.g., "hey, garfield sounds like peter venkman!"
Avatar    Wed. 11/20/13 1:24pm Carmichael:

When I came home from the military, all of my records (and other things) were gone. Mom didn't see the need to keep them, or even make any money from them. Grrrr .....
Avatar    Wed. 11/20/13 1:25pm Kurt Gottschalk:

NO MUSIC!

music is boring.
Avatar    Wed. 11/20/13 1:30pm listener james from westwood:

carmichael, that's rough. at least if she'd made a buck or two you'd have had that.
ndbob, two friends of mine trucked boxes upon boxes of books from indy to nj some years ago. both literate folks, one a doctoral student. they needed to book space on an 18-wheeler.
Avatar    Wed. 11/20/13 1:31pm listener james from westwood:

ha ha, no pun intended on "book space."
Avatar    Wed. 11/20/13 1:34pm Amanda:

This music is SO BORING!
Avatar    Wed. 11/20/13 1:34pm Carmichael:

Stiff Little Fingers, baby! Best Irish band evah.
Avatar    Wed. 11/20/13 1:37pm Uncle Michael:

I'm late...I loved the Pippin song.
Avatar    Wed. 11/20/13 1:41pm Amanda:

I am late too! To these playlist topics. It is hard to give up beloved possessions, but for me it also feels great to get rid of stuff. I rarely miss it.

@Kenzo, thank you for saying that about your 90s station! I used to listen to a lot of college radio in the 90s, and I do kind of model my show after the sounds I heard then. I mean, partially.
Avatar    Wed. 11/20/13 1:41pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Coming up in 15 mins: Two hours of looping of 60 seconds of Amanda's use of a Breeders song. And maybe a few things on top of that.
Avatar Wed. 11/20/13 1:42pm Skirkie:

Folks been playing this Jay Vons thing the last two days, is it like REALLY new?
Avatar    Wed. 11/20/13 1:48pm Amanda:

New Bin note says it was acquired 11/15.
Avatar Wed. 11/20/13 1:50pm Skirkie:

Internet said it was released on 10/29. These La-Ta-Da jerks gotta get this stuff to you sooner.
Avatar Wed. 11/20/13 1:53pm Dominick:

Kenzo's up next here on the Drummer Stream. Playlist page here: wfmu.org...
Avatar    Wed. 11/20/13 1:56pm Amanda:

Well, I also could have bought one at their record release party, which I was at, but I was a cheap so-and-so.
Avatar    Wed. 11/20/13 1:56pm ndbob:

excellent show Amanda!
Avatar Wed. 11/20/13 1:56pm Jeff Golick:

My only other first-hand radio experience was college radio in the 1990s. We were a commercial alternative "college rock" station in a small city. I was one of the jazz djs. Opening shift 3-6am.
Avatar Wed. 11/20/13 1:57pm Jeff Golick:

I didn't even like jazz.
Avatar    Wed. 11/20/13 1:58pm listener james from westwood:

thanks, amanda!!
Avatar    Wed. 11/20/13 1:58pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Did I say 2pm? I meant 2:05pm
Avatar Wed. 11/20/13 1:58pm Jeff Golick:

Thanks, Amzz! If I may call you that.
Avatar Wed. 11/20/13 2:04pm Dominick:

Yow!
Avatar Wed. 11/20/13 2:04pm Lizardner Dave:

Great show today and my midday meetings were cancelled so I was able to listen to the whole thing live. A rare treat.
Avatar    Wed. 11/20/13 2:06pm Amanda:

GBye, folks! Thank you so much for listening!
